Streams to watch

First off let me say that you seem to have an amazing community here. I'm new here, almost 2 decades of tabletop experience. I am wondering if there are any live streams to watch of games in progress, or if there's a way to just spectate an ongoing campaign? Would I have to talk directly to a GM/DM/Storyteller to see about spectating an campaign? Would it be best to do this searching on the "Looking for group" forum? I've watched a few videos on Youtube. I'm interested in seeing something as it happens before jumping in myself.
There are many, many livestreams and recorded plays out there. If not YouTube, try Twitch.tv. And some but not all GMs will allow spectators; if you see a game you like, it can't hurt to throw out a private message and ask! If you're interested in some barely-controlled chaos, you're welcome to watch in this coming Sunday night as my group tries to deal with their first exposure to the new character sheet system in an established campaign. And if they survive that, they have to survive literally being in an ant's nest of trouble! Welcome to Roll20! -Phnord

Have you thought about the GM Academy? While it is not a game campaign it is a large group of GM's that have banded together to support each other. The GM Academy's mission is for all GMs, DMs, Story Tellers, and Judges to come talk shop, get advice, receive help with the various tools and discuss anything related to building and running a campaign. The GM Academy hosts a live workshop where for an hour there is one specific topic discussed and demonstrated then after the workshop a general round robin discussion happens. Seating is limited for the workshop and you need to be a member of the the GMA to get a seat. There are other methods to get in on the workshops live: live feedstream with text posting (talked about in the group's forum) Come and join us: LFG listing: GM Academy
