That makes it sound as if there was malice or trickery on the part of the guys at Roll20. I don't think that is the case, did I have the assumption that today I would be able to create and alter my own sheets as a non-mentor level subscriber yes, yes I did. The fact that I can't is slightly disappointing but I chalk it up to a misunderstanding nothing intentional. The Roll20 development team are from anything they have ever done or said, good guys that had a great idea for a hobby they love. Our assumption is that most folks aren't looking to program a sheet-- the drop down menu of community-created sheets for larger games being a big resource for most folks and our focus in discussing the update. We did mention that this would be a Mentor feature (" Note: Creating a custom sheet... " ) and this is in line with where we put our other big programming feature, the API. If you look around the forums today, you'll see a lot of threads talking about errors with the character sheets-- and a lot of those errors are related to oversights by the community creators. I don't in any way mean to knock their efforts (this stuff isn't easy)-- instead simply to point out that an advanced feature like this ends up requiring a lot of our attention. That's always a good indicator for us that it's something we should consider a paid feature-- that our time supporting the item is met with compensation. That's what allows us to keep updating for EVERYBODY... we couldn't pay for faster servers or take the time to research and implement something like QuantumRoll without income. I do see, however, that we could stress this louder upfront to help avoid misunderstanding, and I'll keep that in mind to make clearer down the line. Well, Nolan, I kind of over react about it. It was because of the frustation about the anounced feature that seemed to be to everybody. I understand the importance of the Supporter an Mentor program. I'm already a Superter and I'm thinking of becoming a Mentor. Thinking better, I understand it was a misunderstanding like John said. I'm a fan of you all from Roll20. It's a huge platform made for everybody whithout selling anything, but asking for contribution. Sorry about that.
