Generic Tokens not showing token actions

I used to be able to drag a monster NPC to the map and switch it to a generic npc token and still have access to the token actions and character sheets through the new token. This is no longer the case, as soon as I switch it to a generic token the token action go away. Very frustrating as they were working last time I played.

That never should have worked. Token actions are determined by the character, not the token. How would the site know which token actions to use without a link back to the character? The only possible way this could work is if the token actions were written on the collections tab as universal token actions, which would mean they would work on all tokens, assigned or not. But token actions based on abilities are written on character sheet journals, and the buttons are called only by a token linked to that journal.
