Hey, Kristy. Welcome to Roll20. I know it's frustrating trying to find people to play with when you're new to the game and excited to play. Hang in there. Don't give up. The reality is there are many more players than DMs and groups can fill up very quickly. It doesn't mean no one wants to play with you. It just means you weren't in the right place at the right time. If you haven't tried it yet, take a look at the Looking For Group Search tool . It lets you use filters to narrow it to just the games you want (like D&D 5E), games that are open to new players, only free to play games, and the days you can play. Just so you know, there are games that people run for free and games that people charge money to play in. They're called "Free to Play" and "Paid" games. If you ever see a forum title with [PAID] in it, it means the DM charges a fee to run that game. I'm personally working on some free low-level one-shot adventures I can run for new players to get them in a game, but it's going to take me a few weeks to finish them. The most important thing is not to give up. It takes time to find a group on Roll20 if you're looking for a free to play group. If you're willing to pay, you can usually find a game a little quicker. It's simply a tradeoff between time and money. Good luck finding a game. And welcome to D&D! May you have many glorious adventures! :-)
And here's a guy looking for some new players to play in his campaign: https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/8812028/lf-new-slash-newish-players-for-ongoing-5e-campaign
Hi Kirsty, if you have any luck could you let me know as I'm a similar position. Looking to find a group of new/newish players so I can improve my skills as haven't played a huge amount previously, but I do have a little knowledge.
You aren't interested in my group anymore?
I would be if you could send some info.
There are also discord servers you can join that host games regularly. I found 3 so far and they are fairly active.
