As dusk settled over the Butterskull Ranch, orcs on the inside, adventurers outside, Simplejack called out the party's demands--come out of the house with hands up, weapons on the ground. Of course no self-respecting orc is going to comply with such a demand. Perhaps Simplejack knew it as well and was just itching for a fight. And fight they got! The streamed out of the house, enraged at the Simplejack's demands. Unfortunately, for the orcs, the adventurers were spread out too widely for the orcs to wade through enemy lines with impunity. Blood was drawn on both side, but in the end, the adventurers prevailed. However, one orc survivor remained, and there was some disagreement about what to do with him. The orc, One Tooth, relayed to the party a white dragon ousted them from their lair in the Sword Mountains. The orcs fled the mountains, came to the ranch, and evicted Big Al. Right makes might, the orc claimed. In the end, the party decided to tie the orc to a tree and let nature decide his fate. After the brief but violent skirmish and interrogation, the party helped Big Al clear out the house and dispose of the dead. In total, the party saved Big Al, killed/evicted 15 orcs, reclaimed Big Al's hat from Lemi Longnail, and recovered Petunia on the way back to Phandalin. As the party approached Phandalin, they saw a white dragon circling the skies above Umbrage Hill, about 6 miles south of the village. Understandably, the dragon was all the talk in the village. The party collected their reward and decided to head to Gnomengarde next, the same direction they last saw the dragon, in hopes of securing magical aid or an alliance against the dragon. The arrived outside Gnomegarde at dusk, at the end of a long day of travel...
