Hi all! Here's a quick summary of the post before going into more detail: Players Needed: 3 Ages: 21+, preferably late 20s / early 30s. System : Starfinder Adventure : Against the Aeon Throne Start Date : August 1st or 2nd, 2020 Campaign Length : ~6-8 months. I've heard that PF/SF adventure modules are supposed to be super long, but we'll try to aim for this. It could take longer. Schedule : Every Saturday or Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm EST. Times are slightly flexible. Programs : Roll20, Discord, Spotify Premium. No sweat if you don't have premium, we can probably fix via family accounts. It is a plus though! Requirements : Be committed, be a good human, be excited to play and learn, and be actively engaged. New players are welcomed! Introduction We are a group of 3 friends that have been playing D&D 5e together for over 5 years, having started thanks to Critical Role. We have played through most of the official WotC modules and are looking to experiment with other systems to see what they have to offer. We are starting with Starfinder's official adventure module: Against the Aeon Throne . We are going into Starfinder as complete noobies. Everyone is expected to do their research beforehand, but we will all be learning as we go. In order to not bog down sessions, we'll be taking a "this is how we are ruling it for now, we'll look it up after the session and learn for future situations" approach to the more complicated rules. Playstyle We strive to have a mix of drama and laughter. The campaign needs to have emotional weight paired with real danger and consequences, otherwise, you lose interest. It also needs to be funny and inviting, otherwise, it feels like you're being asked to perform every time you speak, which comes with added stress. We want players that come to the table to have a great time with friends while collaborating on a story that means a great deal to everyone. We speak as our characters when interacting with the world, and as ourselves the rest of the time. We do voices because we enjoy doing it, but they are not mandatory. We believe that the most important story begins on session 1. Everyone is encouraged to write backstories to flesh out and better understand their characters, but this game is not solely about you. It's about the party as a team. If you choose to incorporate one of the adventure story hooks into your character, it will be reflected in the story when the time comes. However, I will not create homebrew content centered around your backstory. One of the main reasons we are playing the official adventure modules, aside from them being super fun, is that all the work is done for the GM thanks to Roll20. We all live busy lives! Who we are looking for We are looking for someone above the age of 21, ideally in their late 20s or early 30s as that is our age group. Your experience does not matter at all. Brand new players are highly encouraged to apply! If you are excited about playing, show up to sessions booming with energy, and care a lot of your campaigns, please consider applying. We ask players to follow these 5 pillars: Collaboration : This is a team-based, social game. We are not looking for solo players or those that rarely participate. If the prospect of working together to overcome obstacles sounds like fun to you, keep reading! Engagement : I strongly believe that the amount of effort you put into sessions is the amount you get back. The more engaged you are, especially when it's not your turn, the more fun you'll end up having. We want to experience epic victories and devastating losses, but for that to happen, everyone needs to be giving it their all. Respect : Everyone has different lines they don't want others to cross. Respect those boundaries and treat everyone equally. If you get offended by something, communicate. If you have a problem with something or someone, communicate. On a side note, none of the weird shit that you read about in the horror stories that come from this hobby take place or are welcome at our table. Improvisation : Sometimes things will not go as you had planned. Sometimes your character will fail horribly at something. You need to be able to accept that that is okay. If your only intent is to "win", whatever that means, you're not going to be fun to play with. It's important to learn how to go with the flow in order to keep sessions moving smoothly. "Yes, and..." is usually better than "No" when interacting with your party members. Commitment : Once a week for 4 hours. That is the minimum commitment you make to the 5 other humans at the table. With that said, life always comes first. If you need to miss a session for whatever reason, please let us know ahead of time. How to apply We are looking for people, not characters. Leave a reply below if you are interested in joining this campaign. I will be messaging those that make it to the second phase of the application, where we'll have an interview over Discord with voice. If you pass that, you're in and get to meet the rest of the players! We'll have a session 0 a week before the first session, but we'll be actively chatting all the way there. Setting up the group will take between 2 to 3 weeks. I'll leave the content of the reply up to you (: If you prefer to message me directly instead, feel free!

Looks like one of the players is interested in a Technomancer, while the other might play a Mechanic! We are still looking for 3 more (:

Just a reminder that while the day has to be either Saturday or Sunday, the times are somewhat flexible!
Come join us! This adventure sounds incredibly exciting. Also, (speaking from experience as a player) JJ is the greatest DM I have ever had the honor of playing with. :)

Hello, I am replying since I am definitely interested in joining and meeting new people. To go about making new friends and broadening my horizons, all that good stuff. I have more experience with high and urban fantasy than science fiction. As a result, I find myself preferring soft science fiction (or science fantasy) to hard science fiction. About myself- Name: Brenden B. Poston Alias: Bly Age: 25 Pronouns: He/him/his Player Types: Storyteller/Actor, also Thinker Hobbies: Tabletop, writing/reading, cooking I have experience with...- Tabletop: Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, and World of Darkness. Soft Science Fiction: Star Wars, Star Trek, and Mass Effect. If you are interested, I would be glad to recommend more obscure works as well. Classical Science Fiction: The Time Machine  by H. G. Wells, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea  by Jules Verne, and Frankenstein  by Mary Shelley, just to name a few. I look forward to further discussion soon. If I had the chance to join the team, I would hope to be the party's medic. Cheers, Bly

Sounds great, Brenden! I'll send you a pm at the start of next week so we can schedule a call to see if we're a good fit.
Hi,  If you are still looking for players, I'm definitely interested. From what I'm reading, this seems like a very exciting game, both as a chance to check out Starfinder, and also given the compassionate, creative vibe you all are looking for at the virtual table. My last game before this was a Star Wars homebrew game, previous to that most of my gaming experience has been in fantasy settings, but I'm pretty well versed in various sci-fi genres overall.  About me:  Name: Katie L., (Kate or Kal are also good) Age: 26 Pronouns: She/Her and They/Them I live in Philly, so I'm also in EST  Other than TTRPGs, I like to draw and embroider; I also do community organizing.  I frequently play support classes, but am interested in shaking it up, especially to be a good balance with my party. Immersive improvisation and character driven roleplay are my favorite aspects of these kinds of games regardless of which class I'm playing. Having an inclusive and diverse space at the table, as well as in the campaign, is also something that is definitely important to me as a player, particularly as a queer person.  I started playing D&D in college and have experience primarily with D&D 3.5, 5e, and Pathfinder, though I have also played shorter games in a number of d6 based systems as well. This would be my first time actually using Roll20 as the primary tool for a campaign, but I'd be amped to dive in.  If you think I might be a good fit, I'd love to talk more. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks!

Awesome, Katie! Sending you a pm. For anyone else that stumbles upon this post, Monday is the last day we're taking applications. We are going to be running quick voice interviews next week via Discord with everyone that has applied to see if we're a good fit.
Hi, I am a 25 year old. I live in CA, but since we would be playing on Saturday/Sunday, I can always do whatever time the group decides on. Though, I do run a dnd campaign for my friends typically on Sunday around 1pm-6pm PST.  I played mostly DND, some 3.5e and now primarily 5e, but I do want to try new system. Being a Star Wars / Doctor Who fan, I am excited to be trying out a space-themed system.  I am pretty flexible with the type of characters I want to play, and will look into filling out the missing role of the group. Best, Tai
