LFG - DnD EVERY version - New and Experienced players welcome. I want to run through old adventure mods using historic systems.

Hello, I'm Kaiju Kojin!

I'm interested in forming a long term group for a special project I've been wanting to do for years.

I lost my job due to the Covid-19 virus, so I've turned to my hobbies to make ends meet.

I've created my youtube channel, twitch channel, and I have a master rank membership at World Anvil

What I want to do for my channel is a review/playthrough of every D&D module (and a custom adventure or two in campaign settings that don't have specific adventures, like Hollow Worlds. Or, those giant box campaigns like Menzoberanzan.)

The whole thing will be set up as one-shots, (or however long most adventure modules take, eventually I'd like to do the large scale campaigns).

I would like to rotate the DM each session to avoid burn out and allow me to get some practice in. I do have a campaign setting that will encompass the madness I'm weaving. I plan on documenting everything on my campaign setting in World Anvil for my followers.

I'd love to have a mix of experienced and new players. One of the things I'd like to include is thoughts/reflections on the adventure. I think it would be interesting for someone who has only played 5e to run through some classic adventures. I would also like to explore lesser-used classes. A specific adventure with a group of psionic would be an interesting playthrough. (think of the four white mage run in final fantasy)

As far as campaign settings go, the idea I had for an overarching story is a city called "City of doors". It's the place where all the left socks go. A central hub in the middle of the multiverse. the inhabitants are all pulled from various dimensions. The city was founded by dwarves and a group of victorian era Englishmen, and a multitude of other stragglers who wind up in that spot.

Eventually, they harness the doors and have set up a sort of guild system in various realms. Locals can hop through and go directly into a mission. I figure this set up is perfect for this sort of LONG TERM campaign project. That way, you can make as many characters as you want, with any background, and the whole reason they are where they are is due to a random draw of being sucked into the City of Doors, with no real way to get home. So, to make ends meet, you join the guild and check the adventure boards...

I have the most open schedule known to man right now since I'm working for myself, I am on Pacific time.  If you also do twitch or youtube channels, this is a great way to collaborate. The biggest thing I want to do is just make sure everyone is having fun. I want everyone to have a chance to run an adventure, and use these as a way to get better at the game.

Anyway, let me know if you have any questions. I'd really like to find some people who would be seriously interested in this and have the time to work through them.

I dmed in reddit but ill post here too i am extremly excited for this project and i would love to learn all of older editions of dnd as well as play the current ones i am a dm of 11 years and a player of only a few botched sessions as a PC cant seem to find "my" DM or GM but anyway i like an equal mix of combat and RP and am open to playing anything even being dedicated healer

Id also like to add i dont work why? Well disabled but able to play without help but this would really help me fill in my time

Howdy, I'm interested. I've been in a long-term IRL group since 2013 and it's still going steady, so I've got consistency on my side. I also love old school D&D, and I'd love to play and run it in the very long term.
