[Weekly Downtime Thread][Summer IV 1526 HC][Sessions 242-250]

Please post any of your downtime activities below. You can find the full rules for downtime  here . This thread is for the week:  24 June to 28 June, covering sessions 242-250 Always remember to be specific about what downtime action you are taking! If you're leveling up type that in your post labeled as OOC! If you're looking into an item be specific about where that item is from, what mission, when you got it, who from, etc. If you write "I read that book I found" the DM is likely to have no clue what you are talking about. If you are learning a language, or tool make sure to write down how many weeks you have been practicing! This lowers the DC, and gives advantage depending on the number of weeks. Also a reminder that players only get one main downtime action per week.

Dragomir & Nalu OOC: Major: Chic Chic Whistling from Kaerava 3rd Attempt! (This fails it's impossible) 1300/3000 Towards 2nd Stage  Orithar Trisk OOC: After the battle with the Necromancer, he speaks with Fire and Ice (his axe) to see if it has any more information/secrets to share. Korak (Learning Athletics Week 3) After shopping in Zobek Korak stops by Cordies place and for some reason thinks its a good idea to ask her help with learning Athletics, seeing as she needs to figure out ways to lift and pull things to accommodate to her new form. The training probably just consists of heavy manual labor moving debris and materials around for any workers there. Korak will pitch in some stone knowledge to fortify things a bit. (Minor Action: Korak uses identify on the strange Goopy Mace got off the floating person ghost)  Hedrin (Learning the Thilean Week 1)

Raven Tonks Rowan Major: research on towers and castles having established her relationship with Shurran and realizing her growing desires, Raven Sees about making efforts to find ways to enlarge Cordies tower into either a larger tower or small castle with which they can live comfortably with their menagerie of Creatures and Guests. Note to self: ask how to make shadow fey, can you be shadow fey noble without being shadow fey, would i have to change over?   Hen Major : research/ info gathering while in the Vampires Hold, HeN learns more about blood magic and hopes to find the cause of her transformation. They listen intently to everything anyone tells them and also inquire about what kind of skills the Blood sister is looking for in a Second. Hadrian Darkleaf Major: Level to 6. OOC: is their a way to level up Demi? Rendi Theocus Major:  learn Brecht (week 2) he also seaches the forests for random animals to practice turning into (hoping to find a Giant Badger) and for herbs to add to his kits (preferably poisionous) Chikat Stonehaven Major:  Researches Necromancy spells in hopes of learning new ways to trick people. Nerolia Major:   attempts to befriend a hawk, sings some songs and celebrates her companions return.

Alvah Laurent Begins learning proper thieves tools usage from Rendi. ( Week 1 ) Eirena Lightshadow Will be refitting and refurbishing the plate mail from her latest expedition. Finally, plate mail! Robert Bossouri Continues learning Draconic. ( Week 3 ) Sithric Sidhefriend Sithric spends his time training to abuse every lapse of judgement he can get from his opponents. ( Lvl 3 Rogue, Assassin Subclass ) Takumir Jachral Takumir will tag along with Shou to Zobeck, to start learning Sylvan. Fey had been to him so far and he really wants to learn their language as soon as possible. ( Learning Sylvan from Shou, Week 1 )

Nils Ullstein Location:   Temple of Rilni, Mairade (Modest Lifestyle - 16 sp) Major Action: Nils takes the time to polish his newly acquired armor and purchase a shield depicting the setting sun of Avani. He sets out in pilgrimage to the Temple of Rilni in Mairade intending to swear the Five Oaths of Service and pledge himself in the service of Lana the Lightbringer. He will bring word to her worshipers in Mairade of the temple to Basaia he found within the ancient ruins of Innishiere that had once been corrupted by the vampire. He intends to bring the Light of Lana to the lands of the Brecht people. He will spend his time in worship at the Temple of Rilni and begin to learn Basarji (Attempt 1).   (OOC: I made a silly mistake in not realizing Cuiraaecen was a Chaotic  god of Cerilia when I took my warlock dip.... hoping to address this by changing my warlock patron to Avani. It seems like from the old wiki Paladins of Avani often took spell casting dips and the oaths seems like a good fit for Lawful and Arcane/Undead wary Nils. Hope this is ok!) Shou Location:  Zoebeck - Modest Lifestyle (16sp) Major Action:  Shou continues to adapt to his new form. He returns to Zoebeck to see if his Spider Snake breastplate can be modified to fit it. (handled in RP session)

Cedrych Brightbough Cedrych returns to Harlech Castle to begin his training for the Competition. In addition to whatever training regimen is suggested, he tries to find out about what events are actually required for the competition: Is it a duel to the death? 1v1, or a free for-all? Are there tasks that go beyond just killing the other competitors? Feats of skill? Magic? What are the rules? Where is the competition held? At Harlech Castle? Somewhere else? Similarly, where is the ritual to become the apprentice held? What is involved in the ceremony? He also requests magic access while he stays there, third level (enough to use his magic items, if necessary). If Alkava objects, he explains that he is but one sheep living in a den of wolves and asks that she allow it as a sign of good faith.  He approaches Hen (who is also staying at the castle to train) about sharing a room. If they allow it, they take turns keeping watch for night-time visitors. Beyond that, he tries to familiarize himself with the castle and surrounding area. He abides by the rules laid out by his hostess, but doesn't let his guard down. OOC: Just want to confirm, Elee. If I were to go through with this and win the competition (big if)... is there any way I could continue playing Cedrych? Or would he have to be retired? I would be willing to accept a nerfed version of whatever powers the transformation may impart if that's the problem. Kazimir Volkov Kazimir spends some time investigating blade oils that can convert a weapon's damage to a different type. How rare/expensive are they? Can they be found readily for purchase? If so, how much do they cost? Is it possible for one to make their own? If so, what types of reagents and skills are required? Salazar di Fioretti TBD

Jannis the Red Jannis takes a loan of 1,000 GP from the Cohort to fund the relocation of his parents and to finish paying his tutor for his magical arts training.  After getting his family settled in Brechlen, Jannis completes his third and final week of training to become an Eldritch Knight.

Grian Will level up to warlock 2 Phage Will head to Aresia to use her library access to start her research what she can about the Necropolis or Lutheria, The Lady of Dreams. Brognir Will do some smithing for coin. 

Glenn Sturgis Experience permitting Glenn will level up to 9.  He will also be writing a letter to Rhiana Waymuun. He will confer to her all the intel they have gathered on Alkava, particularly the rule of 2 and the choosing ceremony. Glenn would pay to send this letter in the most secure way.

Cordie Levels up to Sorcerer 6 Cordie will also take out a loan of 300gp from the Cohort and use that, along with proceeds from equipment sales, to actually finish her tower! Tower work 4000/4000gp Lyla Levels up to Sorcerer 6 Medi Continues paying for Andu lessons [Week 3] Tanya Levels up to Monk 3 (Keep forgetting to do this)

Darvius Darvius   focuses on developing his new monestary  and training his recruits.  

Dragomir & Nalu Drago starts to realise that maybe Kaevara thinking something is possible doesn't necessarily mean it's possible for anyone besides her. Orithar Trisk Identify handled in session (Elee: Trying to socialise with Fire and Ice) Fire and Ice tells Orithar that they are only half a weapon. They don't expand on this knowledge. Fenris Nathair Fenris needs more time to learn Thylean. Nubby Oddling Nubby needs more time to learn Thylean. Korak Korak successfully gains Athletics proficiency through helping Cordie. (Elee: Identify attempt on ghost mace from session 249) I believe we handled this in a session. Hedrin Hedrin needs more time to learn Thylean. Raven Tonks Rowan (Elee: Research into merging towers into castles) It is definitely possible to have a stronghold keep AND a tower as part of the same structure. You can join a shadow fey as a noble without being one yourself, though most people tend to turn into one given enough time around their new "family." Hen (Elee: Researching/learning blood magic) I think we handled this in light RP Hadrian Darkleaf Hadrian trains and improves his skills. (Elee: Does Demi level up?) She will level up yes. I haven't had a look at her stats in awhile. If you want to you can add a class level to her of your choice. Rendi Theocus Rendi will need more time to learn Low Brecht. In his spare time he scours the forests and spots some new creatures, including a Giant Badger, leading a group of her cubs in search of food. He finds some nice herbs, but nothing special. Chikat Stonehaven (Elee: Spell research - Necromancy, trickery) Chikat discovers the spell Heartstop (Midgard Heroes Handbook pg 173). Nerolia Nerolia's songs occasionally attract songbirds, but no hawks yet. Alvah Laurent Alvah's bad hand makes some of the finer motions difficult and so she does not pick up the skill just yet. Eirena Lightshadow Eirena gets decked out in plate mail finally. Robert Bossouri Rob successfully picks up the Draconic language. Sithric Sidhefriend Sithric levels up. Takumir Jachral Takumir successfully picks up Sylvan. Nils Ullstein Nils pledges himself in service to the light, and succeeds in picking up Basarji rather quickly. Shou Handled in Light RP. Cedrych Brightbough (Elee: Researching Alkavah's upcoming event, and asking about OOC consequences of winning it) I think we handled this already. Kazimir Volkov (Elee: Researching blade oils) Kazimir does some research and discovers that whilst blade oils tend to be rare, they aren't as rare as many other magical items. They can be crafted by those skilled in alchemy, but the recipes are largely secrets. More research and/or experimentation would be necessary. Salazar di Fioretti TBD Jannis the Red Jannis' family are able to get settled thanks to the large sum of gold, and Jannis himself successfully finishes his training. Grian Giran levels up his arcane abilities. Phage (Elee: Researching Lutheria and the Necropolis) Telamok is a sacred site built aongside a canyon in the Mithral Mountains. The mountain and its ruins are named after the ancient Dragonlord, Telamok. Ancient, time-worn bridges cross a vast mist-shrouded chasm to cliffs where the entrance to tombs and crypts are located. This is a place of death where no living being stirs. The ruins are covered by a thin layer of snow and ice, which absorbs sound and enshroud the area in eerie silence. The Necropolis was built to house the remains of the Dragonlords who came to Thylea five centuries ago. Xander Huorath, the first and greatest of the Dragonlords, is buried at the center of the Necropolis. IN addition to the Dragonlords, the skeletal remains of Balmytria, a silver dragon are said to be entombed there. The 'city of the dead' is regarded as a sacred place, forbidden to anyone except other Dragonlords and their companions. It is guarded by a powerful undead known as Damon. He was Xander's friend and the most powerful wizard of his day. Since he achieved undeath he has seen all of his friends pass into the afterlife. He now guards the ancient city to make sure no one loot's the city's treasures. Brognir Brognir doesn't manage to get much business this month, earning 18sp and 4cp. Glenn Sturgis Glenn levels up, though his cookie recipe seemingly cannot be improved upon. The most secure way to send a message would be via the Sending spell, which he can prepare and cast as required. Alternatively he finds a messenger who asks for 25gp to ensure a trustworthy, reliable and discreet delivery, should he wish to send a letter instead. Cordie Cordie levels up, and her tower is complete. Lyla Lyla levels up Medi Medi finally gets the hang of Andu. Tanya Tanya levels up. Darvius (Elee: Stronghold work) Continuing as per Strongholds and Followers.

Diesa Gemfire Diesa spends her time reading the innkeeper's journal recovered from the Spotless Gentlewoman's pub in Muden (From session 242) and trying to piece together what the hell was going on there. As part of these efforts she also asks around if any of the Cohort Council have knowledge of eldersigns and can translate or identify the markings she copied down from the paintings of Justinia. Galena Abanathu Galena continues obscessively working on her musical composition. Aubrae Trevelyan Aubrae practices her acrobatics (2nd attempt to learn the skill, though the first was a long time ago) Sabiha bint Habivi Sabiha hunts wild goats in the hills around myrtos and supplies her catch to the Cohort.

Galena continues her work, and keeps improving her piece. It's coming along quite nicely. Aubrae Trevelyan Aubrae practices her acrobatics (2nd attempt to learn the skill, though the first was a long time ago) Aubrae learns acrobatics (not sure if we rolled for this elsewhere). Sabiha bint Habivi Sabiha hunts wild goats in the hills around myrtos and supplies her catch to the Cohort. Sabiha supplies The Cohort with a healthy serving of goat. Enough for the gods as well.
