Downtime Activities Reference

Folks, We're using the "official" downtime activities rules from XGE, PHB, and DMG. However, for ease of future reference, and particularly for those without easy access to XGE, here is the link to the Unearthed Arcana (not official!) downtime rules. They're close to the final versions. Check with your local DM to find out if the "final" rules-as-written, or our house-determined variants, differ. https://media.wizards.com/2017/dnd/downloads/UA_Downtime.pdf Koop

Making note for the future as a reminder to all of us: We allowed Sedriss to invest in "Crime-Fighting" as a downtime activity, based off of the "Crime" rules. As with those rules, he needs to choose and post in advance of rolling on Roll20 the DC of the crime that he's attempting to disrupt or prevent. He then invests 25 gp for the week and rolls three times: on Stealth, on Perception, and on Intimidation. Three successes means he's completely stopped the crime and earns a financial reward (and possibly other rewards and consequences). Two successes means partial success, and he recoups his 25 gp investment as a reward. One success means the Sharn Watch hasn't arrested him for vigilantism, and there are no immediate adverse consequences for him with any of the city's crime syndicates. Zero successes means ... complications, to be determined by the DM. We allowed Kodiak to train in Animal Handling per the "Training" rules, on the basis of his latent and emerging barbarian-shifter animal affinities. As per those rules, he must invest a total of 10 weeks of downtime and pay the training fees (which are 25 gp per week per XGE, not 100 gp per week per the UA link above). He has invested two weeks as of this writing. We allowed Gnipity to invest in a Magic Falmer Blood con as a variant of the "Crime" rules. He used Deception, Arcana, and Investigation as his three checks.
