The Fall of Turag As the dust settled, Sister Rebecca set about recovering the Irregular’s wounds. While she did so, Lucryllin set about hacking into the computer to find out what was going on where they were. It turned out that this location was called the Wayfairer and was designed to contain Bionicites, a biomechanical species that could destroy all life. He informed the team that, while the Wayfairer was designed to maintain a near 0 K environment to contain the Bionicites, the lower third of the Wayfairer is reporting temperatures well above that range with something “lose” in the area. A system report stipulates that a stasis launch should allow for the system to regain control. Following this information, Turag inquired about the communication system to keep the team from getting killed. Lucryllin set about working into the system and managed to get into the communication system, as well as the logs. These logs, which were written in Archaic English, showed that the Soldati Zimoi, the ice soldiers they had been battling, were not to allow anyone onto the Wayfairer. Curious, Lucryllin and Benna tried to find out why they had been attacked by the Soldati Zimoi in Lazlo if they were supposed to be guarding the Wayfairer. It turned out that the squad they had encountered had been a scouting team sent to recover the Abyssal Energy Locus and return it to the Millenium Tree. Having learned what they could about the Soldati Zimoi, Lucryllin and Benna set about trying to get the soldiers to not attack them for being on the Wayfairer. While they managed to get a message out, another message came in directly on its heels stating to disregard the last message as there were hackers on the system. Lucryllin managed to intercept the message and delete it before it got out to the Soldati Zimoi. Leaving the console, the Irregulars take the rails into the next section of the Wayfairer. On exiting the rail, they find that the temperature is not 3 K, as it is meant to be but instead is near 0 C, significantly above restrictive temperatures for the Bionicites. As a precaution, Turag creates 4 Fucking Cold Guns in the event of an encounter with the Bionicites. Continuing to explore the new level, they found that a hole had been torn in the wall of the Wayfairer that lead outside. there they found broken pods, eggs, and a spot of liquid water that was moving unnaturally. ThorFrid, sensing the danger, took aim at the pond with her Fucking Cold Gun and successfully froze the water and three of the egg clusters. Thorfrid then took aim at another set of eggs and opened fire, however, this shot failed to freeze any eggs solid. Benna targeted one of the eggs and opened fire, erasing the formation of memories regarding The Irregulars, blasting shards from the egg. Finally, Nosmo managed to freeze the remaining eggs with a well-placed Master Blaster. As the team collected themselves, Lucryllin noticed that there were water droplets forming near the hole in the wall of the Wayfairer and warned Turag to watch his feet. Shortly afterward the group was attacked by an unseen force, but not before ThorFrid announces that something was coming. Two Frozen Spears flew from outside towards Turag, one failing to injure him the other wounding him. Despite this, yet more spears appeared from outside targeted on Turag. After the second set of Frozen Spears impacted, ThorFrid managed to snap out of her shaken state and rescued Turag from the seeming range of the Frozen Spears. Benna reached out with her sense and called out two Frozen Sorcerers within her line of sight. Tut generated a mind link with everyone to keep communication active upon which they all heard a voice shouting “Run, they’re going to kill everyone!” It was then that Turag informed the group that he had been infected. Turag, having wanted to assist in the containment of the Bionicites, had created an absolute zero change into which The Irregulars placed him. Seconds after they closed the door, Turag froze solid. Turag having met his fate the Frozen Sorcerer’s ceased their attacks. Lucryllin and ThorFrid continued exploring, heading to the Eastern Room where they found that water was only forming on the southern side. Nosmo headed towards the Northern Room where he found a console. The six Frozen Soldiers stepped aside as Nosmo entered the room and approached the console, looking at it he simply felt flabbergasted. Lucryllin and Benna stepped into the room and began working on the console, finding it to be less secure. They determined that the stasis system would be easy to set up and begin. However, they would have only a few minutes before the stasis system activated and the rails took at least thirty minutes to ride. while Saint Rebecca prepares an ally to stay behind in the stasis field. Before leaving, Lucryllin attempted to find out what caused the system to fail in the first place and found that one of the pods had been ripped from the room. He was able to determine that the pod was accounted for, even if they were unable to determine if all its contents were. They left the Wayfairer and 5-10 minutes later it was covered in a stasis field. As they reached the ship, Nosmo had an idea for potentially saving Turag and attempted to radiate the Bionicite in Turag but ended up incinerating Turag’s corpse, turning him into ash. Hopeful that all was not lost, The Irregular’s attempted to use the Leaf Blanket but find that it simply does not have enough ability to resurrect Turag with his corpse in ashes. Though discouraged, ThorFrid gathered Turag up into a can and reconvened the group for a final sendoff for Turag. Lucryllin cast Boost Trait on ThorFrid, allowing her to send Turag hurtling off into the distance to be lost in the rising sun. As the can sailed off the group thought they heard a faint whoop of glee as though Turag was sailing off into the afterlife on Linata. The remainder of the trip concluded with no event worth mentioning. But while the group was resting at the port, there was a commotion on the ship and an individual was hurtled through their floor and into their room.
