Campaign Journal - July 9, 2020

The ogre zombie struck quickly, with little room,  Sedriss  and Kodiak faced the challenge head on, while the workers in the area, including Clint and Bill came to finish us. It seemed like they were compelled to fight, as Clint seemed especially pleased to be defeated. Though it took several broken bones, arrows through his skull, and a missing arm/shoulder for him to go down. I don't like zombies.     We found little in the factory itself, but we did find a number of orbs, about 2 dozen, which appeared to be weapons of some sort. As we were searching, Cassandra came visiting, she reminded us of our invitation to  Taranadon’s   Pearch , reminded us with armed guards. This made it clear that she worked for the  Boromar  Family.     We returned to House  Kundarak  and informed them of what we found. We gave them the orbs to investigate as well as the Scrolls from the  Daask , as well as having been paid handsomely.  It didn't take long to find that the scrolls were old  Kundarak  schemas, some sort of 3 phase ward that has something to do with Dimensional Seals. I believe I remembered reading about these during my research regarding the  Daelkyr , but I cannot be certain. I will need to visit the library.     Being unable to resist an invite from the esteemed  Boromar  Clan, we met with Ilsa  Boromar , one of the leaders in the family, though not someone I am familiar with. It seems she had some specific interest in the City of the Dead, which we were planning to visit anyway. She also surprised us with a number of gifts, as thanks for ridding the city (temporarily at least) of the  Daask , but we will see how long that lasts.     With  Boromar's  backing, we prepared for the day and went to the City of the Dead. Ahead of this, I finally got my Comrade working! I'm thrilled. I took guidance from  Kodiac , but my new Comrade Bearcat will be an excellent addition to the group. I just need to work on his personality. Right now, he's working, soon, he will get a little more to him.     Upon visiting the city of the dead, we were beset by Ghouls, as well as an Emerald Claw agent, who quickly turned into mist once his minions were defeated. I don't know if this means Karnath is formally involved, or if this is just a rogue agent. We found the  warforged  wages and the resulting equipment that he has been accumulating over this time.     It's time to  check in  with the Ilsa, find out why she was so concerned for the city of the dead.
Kodiak's Journal day whatever.  What a day for glory!!  At the factory the undead set upon us like flies.  Sedriss and I sliced and diced the Ogre Zombie.  If we perfect this technique we will be unstoppable.  The others fought gloriously as well and we sent the undead back to their graves.  We didn't find much of interest in the factory itself but we were invited by a bunch of tough looking halflings to a meeting with Ilsa.  She thanked us for our help and gave us each gifts.  To me and Sedriss we were given bladed boomerangs.  A cute weapon.  I like the idea of a thrown weapon that comes back to me.  Replacing javelins could get expensive. We then went to the City of the Dead to investigate some unusual activity.  We fought ugly ghouls and smelly Ghasts and put them back in the ground.  There was a Shadow who was hard to hit but the magic users put him down easily.  There was an Emerald Claw agent who turned into gas and drifted away.  He didn't want any part of us.  He had some potions and scrolls and loot in a magic bag.  We need to drink in honor of these two glorious battles.
