Airburst and Kismet are going to be teleporting into Racks
to look for stuff. Airburst is wearing an all black second-story-man uniform.
The invasion of Racks takes place at 3AM. Marvel Girl will
be flying over Racks watching from above. Marvel Girl drops between a guard and
the door to the kitchen. She identifies herself as a member of the Brooklyn
Brigade and she volunteers to do his job for him. Mike and Phil are guards. The
sergeant is David is at the security office. The remaining guards Brett and
Carl.
Meanwhile the guard at the security office got the drop on
Kismet but she teleports away. Airburst downloads the data off Lacey's computer
to a thumb drive. Marvel Girl admits to the police that whatever happened is
all her fault. The police come within a hair's breath arresting MG for trespassing.
MG's antics gave Airburst plenty of time to get the data from the computer and
get away.
Meanwhile Paladin has been talking to Lynn Bernhart, the
bartender that helped during the battle with the Conquerors by throwing a
pitcher of water on Arc. She wants a million dollars and to be placed in the
Witness Protection Program in order to tell everything she knows about Manfred
Saietta. Paladin put her in a hotel room under an assumed name while he made
arrangements for her to talk to Detective Joe Nardini to make sure what she has
to say is worth putting her in the WPP (the money is a no-go but she is okay
with that as long as she is safe from Manfred).
Paladin gets back to the Bunker before the rest of the team
gets back from investigating Racks. While he is there alone the four sided
crystal that he got from the Queen of Reqqat started to glow. The light
traveled from the base of the triangle to the point that was most Eastward, the
strobe was very-very rapid. Then as suddenly as it started it went dark.
The group then regroups at the Bunker. Airburst goes to
examine the data from the computer. Kismet goes through the garbage disposal.
Airburst finds that all the girls missing from Racks were working in the Members
Only room, all were recommended by Carol Saietta, that Lacey Bradley is the
owner of record but she owes the value or the restaurant and more to Manfred
Saietta.
Airburst also finds the names of the Members. These include
a NY State senator, the Mayor of New York, the Governor of New York, and many
major money men.
In the morning Paladin contacts Dr. McQuark for DNA testing
on the tooth. The whole group heads to Dr. McQuarks.
After seeing the James Price and giving him the tooth for a
DNA analysis Paladin drives to the space ship hanger in Northern New York in
order to talk to Hal and Dewey (the robot crew) about his d4 flashing to life
last night. During the drive Paladin gets a call from Cassandra. Hal and Dewey
don't have any data they can help him. Paladin has them start running routine
passive sensor sweeps with ship's sensors. The robots ask for 24 pounds gold, 1
pound platinum, 71 kilos of copper.
Airburst attempts to hack the security company for the
building where Distorted Prism is housed. He is trying to find a source of
security footage for the floor where Distorted Prism has its offices.
Airburst tries to hack in (remotely) from a random wifi. He
buys a laptop specifically for this purpose, he will then destroy it when done.
He manages to get 3 hours of empty hallway footage for the correct floor.
Airburst gets the shift change schedule. His target times are 3AM to 6AM.
An appointment with Dr. McQuark for the DNA analysis. Racks
has only been open for 3 months. (From June 6, to August 23) and has lost 10
girls. James Price asks who is paying and Paladin puts the DNA analysis on the
Brooklyn Brigade expense account. McQuark says the garbage disposal is state of
the art. The only thing that saved the sample was that the tooth was caught on
the side of the sink and not having fallen into the disposal maw. He says the
victim was African American, no more that 26 years of age, between 5' 5 and 5'
6 in height. Likely between 105 and 115 pounds, She was of mixed ancestry.
Blood type O+. McQuark produces a 3D hologram of what she most likely looked
like. Having checked the missing person database she is Barbara Horn, a 26 year
old Psychiatric Technician Assistant student at Queen's vocational college (a
trade school).
Her name was not on the list the heroes had.
