Do I need to have Compendium Sharing on to allow my players access to Charactermancer options?

Basically, I have a paper copy of the Player's Handbook, I have had it for a while. My group moved to Roll20. My original plan was to rewrite the information in the book onto Roll20, then have players copy/paste it into the Charactermancer, but then realized that there is no custom option for things such as the Paladin's Oath. I'm debating buying the Compendium here, but I only have a free account and don't want to spend the money to upgrade. My group is more than 5 people, and therefore wouldn't be able to use Compendium Sharing with just a free account. So, my question is this: if I don't have Compendium Sharing on, will my players be able to use the backgrounds, class features, etc., from the Players Handbook?

I've never tested this, but presumably if some of those players own the PHB themselves then they wouldn't count towards your limit of 5 people. Not 100% sure on this though. Paladin oaths just go in the Features & Traits section with all the other racial/class fluff. Anything that gives you mechanical benefit would have to be added to the global modifier fields, Attacks & Spellcasting fields etc. much like everything else. Features & Traits are significantly easier to add manually than spells & combat abilities, they're basically just text, and are added once. Some class abilities, like Smite, are not listed as spells and would also need to be added manually.
