An intrepid group of adventurers band together to escort a loaded wagon of goods to the rugged frontier town of Phandalin. Simple enough: they'll help a friend and earn a few gold pieces for their efforts. But things quickly get complicated.... This will be a very newbie-friendly game, and will focus a bit more on role-playing and a bit less on combat (though there will be plenty of battles fought). Looking for folks who really want to be part of the story-telling, and are excited about creating and playing interesting characters. To keep things a bit easier for new players, the player characters will be fundamentally good and heroic at their core, and we hope they'll leave the world in a better place at the end of this campaign. But at the same time, none of them are angels -- everyone has weaknesses and flaws, and we'll enjoy seeing how those play out too! Assumptions Game play will run for a couple of months of weekly play, and could lead to additional campaigns. Players are courteous, encouraging, and patient with each other. We'll use Roll20 along with Discord voice (and optional video). Players will start with pre-built characters and some basic backstories, but there is a plenty of room for the details to be fleshed by individual players. Games will likely all be run on weekday evenings after 6:00pm MST (GMT-7), but there may be some flexibility depending on player schedules. Requirements Everyone has a decent mic and a reasonable connection. LGBTQ+ friendly, female-friendly, culturally sensitive...and, more generally, everyone will be courteous, encouraging, inclusive, and just plain nice to each other. Questions for Players (Submit answers below or Private Message them to me) What is your name/nickname/preferred name and preferred pronouns? What is your timezone and availability? What is your prior D&D or other RPG experience (if any)? What is your age? What is your Discord ID? (If you don't have one, you'll need to register for a free account: [Mod: Link Removed]) What are two reasons that we'd all enjoy playing with you? What makes you laugh, what makes you cry? Or, sum up your personality in a few words. Tell me something about your interests and hobbies outside of role-playing games. Is there anything that might prevent you from attending sessions weekly, and, if so, how would you want us to handle your character in your absence?
