New- looking for a group of older folks

Older gamer here (over 40). I only played D&D 5e few times before I had a kid. I am hoping to get back into it. I will need some handholding at first unfortunately. Hoping to find older players who can understand the value of free time, and the craziness of children, ha! Game:  D&D 5e Group preferred:  Online Experience:  New  Location/Timezone:  EST (USA) Availability:  once a week - 8pm Preferred role:  Player
Hey Jeff, I'm an older gamer as well (52) who got back into D&D after a long hiatus when my son got introduced to it by one of his older cousins and I thought I'd join in to help round out their party. I play an on-going campaign one night a week with my two teenagers and their cousins. I've caught the bug again and wouldn't mind having another game of my own with people closer to my own age. I'm divorced and have my kids every other week. With COVID, my social life (which was pretty marginal already) is pretty empty these days and I'm free most evenings.
Hello! I am looking for around 3 to 5 players to take part in a Daggerford campaign set in the Forgotten Realms. I use an extensive homebrew system and the campaign will last for 5 to 6 months. No experience with D&D or roleplaying game is necessary. However, I am looking for consistent players who are interested in roleplay and developing their character’s backgrounds and personalities. As a result, there is an interview process that will involve some reading to ensure that you are a good fit for my DM style. If you are interested, I can send you an invite into the application section of the campaign discord server. Once you are there it will (hopefully) answer many of the questions you might have. (I am 50 by the way
I might be interested, but when you say "homebrew system" does that mean you operate according to your own set of custom rules or is it just content you created yourself? I'm not a rule nazi, but I prefer playing campaigns that go by the standard way to play D&D .
I would be interested as well, just retired last year.  It has been many years since I played but would like to get in on a new game.  8pm EST start is fine, about how many hours do you run for?
Nicholas I would be interested.
I'm interested as well Nicholas. Hit me up! I've been looking for a new campaign to play in!
@nicholas I'm an older female gamer and might be interested :) send me an application?
How wonderful to find some folks I might join to be steady and sincere about re-upping in RPGs! I'm 5effing4 years old, started gaming at 13 in Mpls. with some real hardcore dedicated players, often the only girl at the table... Life flowed in different currents though, and I dropped out in after high school. Now this last year+ i've been back into it. I'd like to play weekly any evening basically.I'm shy to start because I feel stupid and forgetful about all my old campaigns, but I love to read some background and homebrew. If you might need one more player, i'm in -- if not, nbd.
I would be interested as well. I have mid level experience, where i've played one campaign lmop of course, and am dm'ing two campaigns now on roll20. CoS and LMOP for a different group, but those groups can only meet maybe twice a month (family stuffs and what not with the players). Thus i'm looking to perhaps be a player again. i too am 'old'er in my later 40's. If you are looking for players still, hit me up, i'm running a group of 6 now, so i would understand wanting to keep the numbers in check :)
40+ here as well, just got into DND less than 2 years ago -> I pulled a group together of some friends and I guess because I initiated the whole thing I got stuck being the DM. I really want to jump into a consistent campaign as a player though to get that side of the table as well, so am looking for a group to join with. Most evenings are free for me, but daytime not so much due to work & kids.
I'd be interested too i'm new to DND but i don't want to play it with teens. I'm only in my late 30s I don't know if i would classify as old enough but I have quite an open schedule Due to corona. But hey i think for a new player old players are amazing to learn from
I’m another old fart (51) and I’d love to play with some folks my own age. Have played pretty much every edition since the blue box and prefer pathfinder to 5e, but could do it with the right group.
Hi! This thread is right up my alley and I'd like to throw my hat in to play with the Gen-Xers and beyond.  I'm also a new GM starting up a new adventure next week for those who might be interested.    Here's a link with more info about me and the adventure if you'd like to check it out!
As a fellow 50'ish gamer, I'd be interesting in seeing where this goes. I'm normally the storyteller more often than a player, so it's nice to revisit the other side of the screen! Nicolas: can you give us an indication on what day/time you expect things to take place? If it's still up in the air, that's understood, and I am sure we can address it during the interview process.

Greetings all you younger folk, I have been running D&D games since the game was first published. I live in southeastern Wisconsin and visited TSR many times, I have gamed with both Gary Gygax and Dave Arenson. I am Planning a 5E Role Play Heavy Friday Night (7:00 PM CDT) Campaign. This campaign will start a Week after GenCon Online. Many games here request players 18+, for this game I will ask 40+. I am 74! Looking for up to 6 reliable Role Players.
Looks like we need a dedicated olderGamers forum :)

Do you have an overview of the kind of storytelling style and campaign themes you have in mind, and what you are looking for in players?
Hey, everyone! As a fellow GenX old person this thread made me laugh. If anyone's still looking for a game, I'm starting one on Sunday afternoons based on Lost Mine of Phandelver. It's aimed at beginners and people just looking to get into D&D, so it's pretty vanilla but y'all are welcome if you're interested! The Absolute Newcomers Guide to Phandalin and Beyond
Hi everyone, what a gem of a thread to find! I played and dm'd in high school 20 years ago and just got back into it recently. I'm still looking for a consistent group to play with. I would be available most evenings after 7:30 Eastern Time. I'm 40, but have a 2 year old daughter to get to bed each night. I'm particularly interested in exploring the ancestry and culture alternatives to race in 5e, but am open to any 5e campaign. I'd consider myself good at roleplaying and character development, but I don't really do voices so much.

Just so delighted to see so many of us here (56). My plate is too full for the next several weeks (DMing two involving new skill sets, and playing in one) but I so want to game with you All! Hope you all found games.
