Hello, Edit: At this point we have too many applications, if that changes i will update this. As the post above says, I am looking for 2-3 additional members to enjoy a 2-3 month adventure on Sundays at 6 PM Central Standard Time. I have had practice running sessions and mini-campaigns before, and mainly want a practice campaign to transition into being a paid DM. The game will be based on 5E but would not be based on any existing campaigns or books, instead, it would be a homebrew campaign. This campaign would be a direct reflection of the characters you bring into this world, as in if you play as a warlock, expect interaction and amain story involving your Patreon. As this would be practice for me running a paid campaign, it is up to you, the players, to decide on what you want to play and how you want to play it. You describe what location and plane you want to start at, and each player would vote on their favourite starting point. Also, what your eventual goal would be (save the damsel, kill the villain, burn/pillage/loot and be anti-heroes etc.) The main setting of the campaign again would be voted on all players, any tiebreakers would be resolved by me. What can I make/bring to this world? Anything but homebrew content, that includes all official and unearthed arcana content. If you want to bring homebrew content, that race/campaign will be considered on an individual basis. My only requirement is that you the player make up a story that isn't completely crazy on how for example you are a warforged Artificer strolling around Waterdeep. What about alignments? I'm all right with all but Pure Evil characters, as they wouldn't have much incentive to keep everyone else alive. How long are these sessions? I plan to take a minimum of 2 hours, and a maximum of 4 hours for each session. Finally, the platform we will use for voice communication is discord, and the platform to play on will be determined by the group. Session zero would start ideally on August 2nd 2020, hopefully, see you then! Please message me your information, this will unfortunately not be a newbie-friendly group, but everyone would be welcome. FINAL NOTE: I'm a firm believer in a few things, such as table talk. If the party is discussing how to defeat the dragon in the middle of the turn sequence, be prepared for that dragon to have a surprise round on you. I'm also a firm believer in people not knowing what they can't know. So if you turn in a thief for stealing something for a shop and you are across town in the library, there is going to be some divine intervention coming down. Turn time is also important if you don't know what you are doing, and consistently take 1-2 minutes to figure out your action on your turn, you will take the dodge action or run away on your turn automatically. Also, I would be scaling the party difficulty to the most min/maxed character, and I would leave magical items that would be player specific to "balance" the party. Play the way you want, lore friendly or roleplaying characters wouldn't be and won't be worthless in a fight. No encounter should or would be easy, and expect to have some very difficult encounters that may require the use of the environment or other ways that aren't always resolved through brute force. Finally, Player Killers or purposely killing players for your enjoyment isn't fun for everyone, and if you are making an evil character, it better not kill its companions. My discord id is Render#1275 if you would rather contact me on discord for a faster response. The first up to three experienced players would be accepted that are okay with the requirements above!
