Layer Tags

Is it possible to remove the small tags that show what layer an object is on. Some of the things I am working on like torches, where I am trying to overlay something on the flame, the little tag that says it is on the MP, TK, GM, etc layers ends up so big I cannot actually see what I am working on. Is there a way to remove those even temporarily?

Are you using some 3rd party extension?  That isn't something I recognize from the normal Roll20 interface.

That is from an extension you're running. Look in its options or post on its forum for help, we can't support it here.
Extension? As far as I know none of the extensions I have should interfere with Roll20. I have a few that block popups, stop ads on YouTube, HTTPSeverywhere, a Pinterest one, Privacybadger, and Office. None of those should have anything to do with Roll20 I wouldn't think.
Oh, I also have a volume booster. Would any of those be doing that?

That sounds like VTTES. The odds of any other extension accidentally adding accurate layer tags to Roll20 tokens are astoundingly small.

Can you post a screen shot?
Yes, those tags sound like they are from the VTT Enhancement Suite.

A quick way to test would be to load the game in a browser you don't normally use, or in a private browsing window.
