Campaign Journal - Day #7 - July 30, 2020

These ancient  Dhakanni  ruins proved to be incredibly dangerous place. It was invested with beasts from the forest, and I was nearly crushed by the shambling mound. If it wasn't for Tari rushing to my rescue, I would surely have been defeated.     We secured the facility as we explored the remaining floors. We discovered an ancient  Dhakani  statue, dedicated to some sort of ancient warrior. The moment  Sedriss  approached the monument to read the scripture, Goblinoids appeared and immediately attacked. It was not immediately clear whether these were guardian spirits of some form, or just remained invisible to ambush it. They did not prove much of a threat, although Sonn did get injured, not severely.     Within the status, we found a trove of ancient  Dhakanni  treasures, luckily, such magical items resize to the user. The boots have really put a spring in my step. I expect these to be very useful.     We found the path to the roof, where a squad of Halflings immediately sought to attack. We defeated them with little trouble, and kept one alive to tell us what was going on.     The halflings were f reelancers that broke off from their homeland and were hired to man the cannot to take control of ships as they passed overhead.      They claimed to have been hired by a person from  sharn , dark looking, carrying a cane, paid gold. Went by the name  Edvald .     Recently, they redirected one ship with some  Daelkyr  equipment and artifacts to the  Mror  holds, a place south of the  Soldorak  Clan and probably has something to do with it. I have no doubt that I will need to speak with my father.   They are looking to recover an ancient dwarven holding deep within the mountains.
Kodiak's Journal:  Go take a shower edition.  This abandoned castle is teeming with enemies.  First up, the plants.  The metal bear and I slice and dice the swamp monster.  The others take care of the carnivorous plants.  Good teamwork everybody. Then come the tigers.  Finally an enemy who knows when to quit. Too bad.  One of those sabre-toothed skulls would have made an awesome helmet.  Again, we're really coming together as a fighting team.  After searching the lower level, we came on a statute of a goblin that magically summoned a bunch of goblinoids.  We made short work of them.  Sedriss got a cool new sword and I got a pair of magical gloves.  Plus we all got a ton of treasure.  We went upstairs to find the cannon.  it was guarded by a bunch of halflings, some of them riding flying lizards.  We won that fight too.  I think we all got better at what we do during this adventure.  We knocked the cannon to the ground and are making our way to Sharn.  On the way I will have to teach Tari some nastier insults to use for her spells.  She's too nice.
