[LFP][5e][Free] Second Spellplague Wednesday Evenings 19:00 EST

"Eighty years ago, the world was reborn. The land was reshaped, its people were remade, and its magic nearly stifled into nonexistence. You are a mage, and your duty to preserve this world's spark does not go unopposed. " - Gestalt variant rules - Custom spellcrafting system - Highly customizable builds Disclaimer - I've put a lot of time and effort not only into this campaign but into this post in order to successfully provide a fun environment come game day. You are expected to read the entire post and reasonably meet every expectation listed below in order to prove to me that you are willing to put forth the effort to make this game fun for everyone. If it's blatantly clear to me that you don't intend to take this seriously in either your application or your 1-on-1 with me via discord, you will not be invited to this game.  The more that goes into your application, the more likely I'll consider you. If your application is too short, I'm not reading it. If you don't want to put work into the application, this campaign will be too much work for you.  Thank you for reading, and I hope the below piques your interest. What I'm looking for in a player - Creative - Engaging - Flexible - Fun to play with - Laid-back - Willing to work Character creation - You will be given a small selection of features that are specific to your character. Due to the nature of magic in this world, your build will not follow that of a traditional DND5e character - you will be far stronger and have far more flexibility in your build. That being said, you must  know your character well. If you put power-gaming before playing your character, you won't last long. - I allow homebrew races and classes (though they are subject to my tampering). Humans and Loxodon are disallowed, and dragonborn are discouraged.  - Evil characters, brooders, loners, and characters that are disinclined to help the party are discouraged and are unlikely to receive the okay from me. - You may roll for stats, choose point buy, standard array, or straight-up ask me if you can choose your stats. I don't mind. - If you want to retexture or rename anything without changing the mechanics to better suit your character, run it by me and I'll almost definitely say yes. Game Rules - Know how to  play, be it understanding the rules, understanding your alignment, or cooperating with a group. - If you cheat, you're gone. I let plenty of stuff slide, but if you cheat, you're done. - Be respectful, and exercise good judgment.  - "It's what my character would do," is not a sufficient idiot and/or *sshole pass.  - Enable others to speak, and do not speak over others. If you are domineering the session, you will be asked to stop. House Rules - You can cast two spells in a turn if one takes an action and the other takes a bonus action without either one being a cantrip. - If you use your action to ready a spell and the condition is not met before the start of your next turn, you do not expend the spell slot. - If you use your action to ready an attack and you have multiattack, you may make multiple attacks as a reaction. - Consuming a health potion only takes a bonus action. Feeding it to an ally takes a main action. - We use flanking rules. - Any effect that allows a reroll can be used after the die is rolled but must be used before the outcome is determined. I.e fighting style: protection - If a creature falls 20 feet or less, fall damage isn't calculated. - Haste allows you to take any main action, but the attack action only allows one weapon attack. Apply with the format below, and keep in mind that the more effort you put in, the more likely you are to receive an invitation. 5e/RP experience: Character Info      Name:      Race:      Class:       Alignment:       Personality traits:      Backstory: What you're looking for in a group: Discord name and ID number: If I like what I see, I'll pull you into a brief discord call; get to know you, little exposition for your character, etc. Cheers. ~Glor
Looks interesting. I've got a few questions before applying though so I can put together a character better suited to this particular setting. At the top you say "Eighty years ago, the world was reborn. The land was reshaped, its people were remade, and its magic nearly stifled into nonexistence. You are a mage, and your duty to preserve this world's spark does not go unopposed. " 1. What w orld was remade? Was it a world like Earth? Earth itself? Or was it a different world, like Toril from The Forgotten Realms? 2. The second sentence suggests that the world had magic before the world was remade. What level of magic does the remade world have? 3. What do you mean by "You are a mage"? Does that mean all characters must be some sort of caster class or is it more of a role (or position) that could include many different classes (like saying "you are a soldier")?
5e: I’ve played for about 3 years now and I love dnd   Name:Dustin       Race:  protecter assimar       Class: Wizard homebrew necromancer just makes the necromancer more fun       Alignment: true neutral        Personality traits: Does understand why people don’t like his magic even though he uses it to save people       Backstory: He’s been tasked with saving people and found necromancy good be a good way to do it so he’s set out to try to save people in the world  What you're looking for in a group: a good fun time I don’t mind if Someone is getting more attention at certain points as long as we all have fun I’m good Discord name and ID number:  KillingKidneys#0723
5e/RP experience: Started playing 5e D&D around September 2018 and have been playing in at least one game ever since then. As for roleplaying experience outside of D&D, I RP'd quite a bit in the MMORPG City of Heroes while I played it. Character Info 1      Name: Youko      Race: Kitsune (Homebrew)      Class: Monk (Kensei Homebrew designed to make the kensei more about actually using their favored weapons)      Alignment: Neutral Good      Personality traits: Can be a bit abrasive due to her blunt nature and general lack of tact, but she does her best to uphold the values her parents and master instilled in her.      Backstory: Youko was a violent child and even though she thought she had good reasons for beating up the other kids, her parents agreed that she needed to learn some discipline, and so they sent her off to a family friend to teach her swordsmanship and try to rein her in a bit. Though her master was successful in both regards to varying degrees and she became disciplined and capable of restraint, she also became much more dangerous when fighting for what she believed in, as now she had actual martial training. Character Info 2 (Second choice in case the first one is too much homebrew)      Name: Artheria Raleigh      Race: Centaur (Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica)      Class: Paladin (Ancients)      Alignment: Neutral Good      Personality traits: Tries very hard to uphold the romanticized ideals of chivalry and knightly conduct. Can be a bit awkward, but they have a good heart and genuinely want to help people.       Backstory: As a youth, Artheria became fascinated by the romanticized stories of chivalric knights and their quests and aspired to become one herself. She finally got her chance when she met a knight errant by the name of Lorraine who accepted her as her squire and offered her further training. Artheria eagerly accepted and began traveling with Lorraine and learning about the practical aspects of being a knight. Though she's not yet a knight, she still aspires to become one when the time is right. Naturally, I'm willing to adjust (and expand on) some of this as necessary to better suit the setting. What you're looking for in a group: I'm looking for a group where everyone can have fun telling a story together. I tend to be pretty laidback and easygoing, so a group where everyone gets along with each other and can be friends would be great. Discord name and ID number: Rhawkas#2519
