Dungeon Master (GM): We can have chandor snooping around the manor here or we can
wait to bring him in when the party returns to Phandalin, the hunter's lodge or
Conyberry. Chandor Daltos: Either way is fine with me. Whatever works best. Roqar: Last live group I had we tried 4e for 2 weeks, made our Chars
played a bit one day next week played a bit next week come to play DM We are
switching toPathfinder that was it (From Chandor Daltos): As part of my "weapon bond" ability, I'm going
to say Chandor is bonded with his longsword. Not that it comes up much other
than for flavor now and then. Dungeon Master (GM): Pathfinder i have not played yet. When a couple of friends ran a
module they made with their new company, Mischief Inc which has since folded due
to infighting, they ran it using Castle and Crusades so that was the first and
last time i played with that rules set. Hello Buddy! Roqar: Alright so in front of the mansion Dungeon Master (GM): Ok, so you want the party to head to the front of the place now,
how about the rest of you. Or perhaps try another window? Chandor you can pick
up any character that doesn't have a player today. Sildar is the NPC i
control in the party Chandor Daltos: Why not? I'll try the echo knight. Dungeon Master (GM): ok Roqar
the Elf Rogue Says: "Lets try
going in the front door this time, maybe he will be a bit nicer" Dungeon Master (GM): He, being the revenant that is Lord Taris Havenfall Roqar
the Elf Rogue Says: "Gotta warn
ya Its damn cold in there" Xar'Tharkas nods, "Let's do it then." Dungeon Master (GM): oh yes, right, the air around and inside the manor here is
frigid. Dungeon Master (GM): The double doors are made of a thick oak, that have now been
splinted by damage. Each of the doors barely clings to the hinges which they
were originally connected to. Trying to peer between the shattered doors just
reveals darkness beyond them. Roqar: Eimong will open the doors Buddy D.: id like to enter with willie Xar'Tharkas grips his glaive and follows. Dungeon Master (GM): ok, as Roqar opens the doors they creak very loudly, alerting
anyone inside of your presence. you can't see anything
inside as it is totally dark! Buddy D.: even for a elf? is it magical darkness Dungeon Master (GM): Yes even for an elf, you'll need to find out if it is Roqar: Can Roqar see into the place? Dungeon Master (GM): no she can not see in the darkness, it’s just jet blackness to
her Xar'Tharkas mutters, "Seems welcoming..." Buddy D.: looking to see who has detect magic Dungeon Master (GM): ok Buddy D.: Light evocation cantrip Casting Time: 1 action Range: Touch Target: Objects Components: V, S, M (A firefly or phosphorescent moss) Duration: 1 hour You touch one object
that is no larger than 10 feet in any dimension. Until the spell ends, the
object sheds bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light for an additional
20 feet. The light can be colored as you like. Completely covering the object
with something opaque blocks the light. The spell ends if you cast it again or
dismiss it as an action.
If you target an object held or worn by a hostile creature, that creature must
succeed on a Dexterity saving throw to avoid the spell. Dungeon Master (GM): ok you can cast the light spell, that will last you an hour's
time Roqar: Roqar lights up a hooded lantern Dungeon Master (GM): ok roqar's lantern's light does not penetrate the darkness
inside. Roqar: Roqar is going to take a chance that the darkness is only by the
door and try walking in passed it Dungeon Master (GM): ok, you walk in and it is still complete darkness beyond the
door way Buddy D.: does the light spell work Xar'Tharkas seeing the elf enter, follows tentatively,
"Don't stray too far..." Dungeon Master (GM): ok, what do you cast the light spell upon? Buddy D.: the floor in the room Dungeon Master (GM): ok it lights up now. Xar'Tharkas says, "Whoa...this place is big." Roqar: (Is it still cold?) Dungeon Master (GM): opps really that light only extends out to 40 ft from the
doorway that box represents
the actual light which should be a
circular radius actually heck yes it's very
cold in here. Buddy D.: howdy sir who is this?
Roqar: Sildar I think
