Character Tokens are Automatically Resizing

I am making character tokens for fireball and other spells. I will:

1. create a new character,
2. assign an image,
3. drag onto map
4. Resize the image to the correct AOE
5. Go to character in compendium and click Edit (with character token selected on map)
6. Remove the existing "Default Token"
7. Click "Add Selected Token".
   

Is there something I'm missing? Because every time i redrag the token from the compendium, it creates a much smaller version than the one i saved. This is annoying for spells like Fireball because I want to maintain the correct AOE. 

One thing I have found is that I need to initially set up tokens on a map that has the default grid scale of 70px per grid unit for them to properly display on map pages with other scales set.  You might check what the grid scale is on the map you are using.
