Hello to everyone. Most people know me by Bugg. I'm 30-something years old. I started playing D&D with a small group of friends, all new to D&D, around May of 2019. We finished the Lost Mine of Phandelver and started Curse of Strahd, but never finished. The group has dissolved due to schedule issues (we only managed about one or two sessions every other month). I still very much enjoy playing D&D and am now looking to join a new long-term group. I can play through most of the week – For Mondays and Tuesdays, I am free to start after 6pm Central Time, and I can arrange to start at any time on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. As mentioned in the topic title, I have a strong understanding of the 5e ruleset and would be happy to help newer players (or a new DM) find their footing if requested to do so. I also understand the need for flexibility in these rules at times for narrative and overall player enjoyment. The characters I build tend to be tuned more towards roleplay with a supportive/utility skill set in and out of combat. But, as I'm still somewhat new, I'm happy to try out any and all styles of play. I also have a little experience DMing a homebrew pirate-themed campaign taking place in the Sea of Swords, which led to me heavily research various parts of the Forgotten Realms lore. I began creating the campaign as a way to relieve my DM of their weekly burden, giving them a chance to be a player at times when DMing that night would have been too taxing for them. Unfortunately, that campaign also never saw its conclusion due the aforementioned scheduling problems. Finally, I am not looking for pay-per-session games. However, I am open to reimbursing a percentage of DM expenses for any materials purchased to run the campaign (preferably upon completion of the campaign itself, or at a point that I become no longer able to participate for some insane reason). Again, my hope is to find a long-term group... even at the risk of making new friends in the process.
