5:00 pm We
continue with the party dealing with a nest of pesky blood sucking Striges,
that dropped down on the party from roosting along the damaged ceiling of a
servant’s dining hall. We started off with Sildar though I will post Round #02
from the beginning here: Round
#02 of Combat! Willie,
swings his Talon Long Sword hitting Stirge #06 for 8 slashing damage, defeating
it! Xar’Tharkas
can’t do anything at the moment as there is no stirge he can go for. Stirge
#10, swoops down on Prayn but missed! Stirge
#07, swoops down on Willie but missed! Stirge
#09, Swoops down on Sildar Hallwinter, draining blood for 4 piercing damage! Sildar
Hallwinter, swings at Strige #09 with his long sword but missed! Skywise
fires his long bow and the arrow hits Strige #09 for 8 hit points of piercing
damage sending it plummeting to the floor dead, while deftly missing Willie!
Willie, yanks the creature from his neck, rubbing at the bite wound. Prayn,
uses his light crossbow to send a bolt through Strige #07 for 9 piercing
damage, sending it dropping to the floor dead! Strige
#08, lands upon Willie, wrapping around his neck and biting for 4 piercing
damage to drink blood! Strige
#12, dives for Hovac the giant badger but missed! Strige
#11, swoops down on Prayn, but missed! Roqar,
jabs at Strige #12 with the short sword but missed! Eimong,
clobbers Strige #07 for 10 bludgeoning damage with his Fists (Unarmed Strike),
sending it dropping to the floor dead! Travok,
stays back for now. Round
#03 of Combat! Willie,
using the magical +1 Talon long sword (one-handed) swings and slices through
Strige #08 for 10 slashing damage, sending toppling to the floor in half! Xar’Tharkas,
moves to slash the final stirge, possibily without freeing Prayn of any limbs
in the process, but that concern is only secondary. Saying, “Stupid Pests!”. He
jabs the glaive, just right to only hit the Strige #11 for 6 slashing damage,
defeating it. Xar’Tharkas, quickly pulls it off his neck, then rubs the sore
bite wound! Room
Description: This
room appears to be in a state of disarray. A large table in the center has
items scattered all over it, ranging from serving trays to candles, all of
which have been knocked over. A large portion of the ceiling here is also
cracked and appears it could cave in at any moment. There are three doors to
the east. The
party spots another piece of parchment upon the floor and picks it up and reads
it: Thes
15: It’s
been months and we’ve found no sign of the White Dragon. Last reports show that
it was flying south towards the Neverwinter Forest. Towards
my home. I have requested that I be permitted to return home and ensure that my
family is safe. Keep
the fires warm; I am on my way home to you. Soon I will hold you in my arms and
laugh with our children again; And should that damn white dragon dare come near
our home, I will put an end to it; Alone if I must. Roqar,
rummages through all of the dining cabinets, finding only the usual dinnerware
and utensils to serve food and beverages. A
lone figures walks into the room with javelin in hand, having heard the
commotion from outside Havenfall manor, following where it was lit and stands
in the doorway of the servant’s dining
hall. Gillian
says, while looking at the mess, “Rats. Did I miss the dance?”. Willie
says, “Naah, just getting started.” Roqar
says, “Yes, you did, but you can hang around for the next one.” Gillian
says, “Huh, nice. So, what are we doing here?” Xar’Tharkas
mutters, “Great…More ways to split the loot.” Gillian
says, “Ass.” Roqar
says, “Trying to solve a mystery about a ghost of a warrior, that’s still here
in his home.” Xar’Tharkas
chuckles at Gillian’s comment, “I may like this one.”, and moves towards the door
to the north east in the servant’s dining hall, taking a listen at the door to
hear if anything lies beyond but he does not hear anything. Gillian
says, “Well this place is a right mess. What have you found so far? Other than
striges, that is?”. Roqar
says, “We ain’t found shit.” Gillian
says, “Is it locked?” Roqar
says, “Let’s open it, doubt there’s traps on it.” Hallway
description: You
see a carpeted hallway here with two doors to the north and south. This hallway
has splotches of blood scattered on the walls. It’s unclear what caused the
blood or who the blood came from. Roqar
says, “Lets try north.” Xar-Tharkas
shrugs readies his glaive and opens the door. Great
Hall description: This
large room is massive. Several large tables, now broken, lie scattered about.
Pieces of armor and broken weapons line the floor. There are noticeably, three
suits of armor on the western wall, northern wall, and eastern wall, all of
which seem undamaged. There are broken paintings along the floor and tossed in
the middle of the room. It appears that some fighting may have taken place here
on top of the destruction this room suffered from the dragon’s attack. A deep
crack splits the roof where portions are open to the night sky. The floor also
has a similar crack along the floor. Roqar says, “Do we throw stuff
at the suits again?” Willie says, “Sure, that would
be cool, kill them all.” Xar’Tharkas chuckles. Seeing a door on the north east
side of the great hall Roqar says, “Lets go for the door instead.” Xar’Tharkas, moves forward to
the door, says, “Open it and I’ll be ready for whatever.” Roqar, opens the door and for a
moment thought she opened into an outdoor courtyard. Taking a closer look this
is what is seen: Area description:
These
halls are covered in dirt, mud and plants, and it is easy to see why. The
windows along the outfacing walls have all been shattered, and the storms and
windows, have allowed plant life to begin to grow inside the manor. Various
wildlife plants now grow along the floor, with some trees having their branches
scraping eerily against the broken glass as if slowly cutting a vein.
