Introduction Thread

Sorry my mistake!! ignore me :-P
No worries.
I can do Sundays 6pm/Wednesdays 7pm no problem. :) Jelly said: Simon N. said: Hi all - due to teaching commitments, I'll need to push Wednesdays game start back to 7pm instead of 6.30pm. For ease of remembering I'll also put Sundays to 7pm unless anyone prefers earlier on Sundays? If it's not too much of an issue, I'd prefer Sundays to remain 6pm if possible?
Hello Simon! Looking forward to tonight's session at 7pm! Have a question for you - I noticed you have amended the title of this group to include "1359 DR" and you also mentioned in another post in this thread "Rumours to end of M5/1359 DR" ...what does the coding/number reference mean?

1359 Dale Reckoning, the current year for the campaign. This is the era of the 1st-2nd edition AD&amp;D Bloodstone Lands setting book, which I am using for the campaign. 5th edition official materials are set around 1491-1496 DR after various epic events have changed the world then been reverted. &gt;:)&nbsp; <a href="https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Bloodstone_Lands" rel="nofollow">https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Bloodstone_Lands</a>

Hi Everyone! Thanks again for a fab game last night! @Simon do we have any XPs to add for last night's session, or are we waiting till next week when we have finished combat at the Toll Bridge?
Hi Kenny no xp yet.
@Tim: Below is a link about FoundryVTT as I mentioned tonight. I have started playing a game on this platform and from a newbie player's POV it looks very sophisticated and polished with better graphics and nice shortcuts. Again it links beautifully to my character sheet on D&amp;D Beyond using the Beyond20 Chrome extension. At this moment nothing bad to say and visually for me better than Roll20: <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=321&amp;v=ja88yRVQmck&amp;feature=emb_logo&amp;fbclid=IwAR0O6hTKQUSdPnPmsyf9J1xDC0pO4t-3CUbfbml6g4PPETbKBvvKdtzv5v8" rel="nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=321&amp;v=ja88yRVQmck&amp;feature=emb_logo&amp;fbclid=IwAR0O6hTKQUSdPnPmsyf9J1xDC0pO4t-3CUbfbml6g4PPETbKBvvKdtzv5v8</a>
Fulscarp Rumours, 1st Tenday M6 1359 DR 1. Several young women of marriageable age have vanished in the region of Darkwood - no doubt the Cult of Chaos is responsible! Farmer Brown is keeping Lyssa Brown safely locked up. 2. Farmer Tovin's cow has returned safely from Whitestone Cave.
First things first, that cow is not a cow. No way it dealt with a band of brigands by itself. Insight check!&nbsp;
I was thinking will start Wednesday session with visit to Moravin Priory northwest of Fulscarp if that's ok. Erasmus wants to research the Cult of Chaos.
Do you want to know what he's looking for specifically so you can prepare (then copy and paste depending on how successful he is)?&nbsp;
Tim M. said: First things first, that cow is not a cow. No way it dealt with a band of brigands by itself. Insight check!&nbsp; It does appear to be a cow... But it does seem odd if a band of hungry brigands would ignore a tasty cow browsing in the sunlight right outside their cave.&nbsp;
Tim M. said: Do you want to know what he's looking for specifically so you can prepare (then copy and paste depending on how successful he is)?&nbsp; I'm happy to be told, doubt I'd do exactly that though.
I'll PM the questions in order of importance later and RP the interactions on Wednesday. There may be more questions as a result of the answers we get, but we'll deal with those as they arise. Thanks.&nbsp;
All sounds good - the cow may be gone (eaten? sacrificed?) by the time we finished at Moravin priory though.... (like we were too late on the relatives of Rosana :-/)
Not bothered by UberCow; it's home. Although Whitestone Cave has peaked my interest. Erasmus, however, isn't there and doesn't know the cow is back yet.&nbsp;
Here are the specifics of what Erasmus would like to research at Moravin Priory: 1) Tsathoggua - His history, where he is now, what happened to send him there (if anything) and what is required to bring him back. 2) Amaul - Where was he from, how did he defeat Tsathoggua, what is known about the Sword of the Sorcerer and what its last known location was. 3) Shrine of Chaos - Where is it specifically &amp; any details about its vicinity, who/what is it dedicated to, when has it been used in the past &amp; for what and is there any way to deactivate it.
In that secret cave in the bowels of Voormithadreth . . . abides from eldermost eons the god Tsathoggua. You shall know Tsathoggua by his great girth and his batlike furriness and the look of a sleepy black toad which he has eternally. He will rise not from his place, even in the ravening of hunger, but will wait in divine slothfulness for the sacrifice. - Libris Damnatis "He was very squat and pot-bellied, his head was more like a monstrous toad than a deity, and his whole body was covered with an imitation of short fur, giving somehow a vague sensation of both the bat and the sloth. His sleepy lids were half-lowered over his globular eyes; and the tip of a queer tongue issued from his fat mouth." - description of a Tsathoggua Idol Opinions differ as to whether Tsathoggua is truly a Demon Lord, an alien entity of the Outer Dark, or both. His cult is popular with Bullywugs, Troglodytes, and some other subterranean races. He is said to dwell in a cavern realm deep below the earth. The primary purpose of his Cult is to feed him with sacrifices, preferably sentient. He is not thought to have any particular desire to go anywhere, being remarkably indolent.

The Shrine of Chaos lies in the depths of the Darkwood. A little over a century ago, cultists of the chaos temple raided the surrounding land seeking sacrifices for their demon god Tsathoggua.The Paladin Amaul, champion of King Banacath, led the assault on the temple wielding a blade crafted for him by the King's Wizard. The Temple was defeated and priests of St Sollars cleansed the altars and idols. Presumably it has since been reactivated by knowledgeable cultists. Amaul was killed in the battle, his sword was lost and its whereabouts unknown; a search of the temple failed to uncover it. Some think it was stolen by a surviving follower of Chaos. Amaul was said to be originally from Impiltur, but he served the King of Damara. Some legends suggest he was a member of a secret order of demon hunters. There is no suggestion that Tsathoggua dwells personally in the temple or fought Amaul personally.&nbsp;
Thanks for all the info @Simon! looking forward to tonight 😃👍🏼

Hi Kenny &amp; Tim, I've advertised 5e Faerun Adventures to a bunch of my current players in other games, so may be quite a big influx! If it's too many for one group I'll split them up to run at different days &amp; times. Most will start at 1st level with 0 XP, but I'm allowing conversions from my 1e AD&amp;D Faerun Adventures that has been running since 2018 and has PCs as high as 4th(!) level. Using 4 1e XP = 1 5e XP, converted PCs will tend to be 2nd-4th level.
Looks like one of Lady Aryn's younger sons may be making a return...

Hi guys, Thanks for having me. My character, Jack, comes from Simon's play by post game of this setting. He is a Knight of the Golden Thorns, serving Saint Sollars the Twice Martyred but lives among the poor folk offering what protection he can until called upon to fulfil the obligations of his order. Jack is a quiet and unassuming fellow most usually dressed in grey travelling clothes and a tatty hooded cloak concealing his breastplate. He wears full armour only on the battlefield however his trusty sword is rarely far from his hand. Look forward to playing with y'all. Regards Chris

Thanks Chris &amp; Rich! I'll be starting the new (or in Jack's case 'new') PCs in the Frogsmouth Inn, Chaney Manor. From campaign page: Chaney Manor Randal Chaney Chaney Manor is the only village in the Chaney Shire. Ruled by dour&nbsp;Sir Randal Chaney ( lesser knight ); he acknowledges as superiors only the Duke in Ravensburg and the King in Heliogabalus. Chaney Tower on Froggy Lake was built by the Chaneys in an effort to claim Baronial status, but was sacked by Bullywugs years ago, and today is an abandoned shell. Sir Randal's three sons by the adventurer &amp; Druid-friend&nbsp;Lady Lanis&nbsp;fell in the Vaasan War, as did Lanis herself (in 1354). His only daughter&nbsp;Viola Chaney&nbsp;was trained by Lanis as a warrior but is said to be a runaway who has since (M5 1359) taken up with the wandering Druid&nbsp;Kade. Chaney Manor has one Inn, the&nbsp;Frogsmouth Inn, owned by the&nbsp;Abbey of St Cecilia&nbsp;and run by hired staff. Sir Randal is known to dislike the name, a reminder of his family's misfortune. The Frogsmouth is run by&nbsp;Kelli&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;Rolf, a brother and sister team, both unmarried. They share a stablemaster with the Chaney Manor House across the street. St Cecilia's Abbey A nunnery for the matron saint of 'Fallen Women Redeemed', many middle and upper class Damarans send their wayward daughters here to experience hard discipline and learn virtue. The most talented Sisters become Clerics of&nbsp;St Cecilia, receiving miraculous power through the blessing of Ilmater. Most Sisters are&nbsp; Sisters Penitent , but&nbsp;Sister Superior the Abbess Mara Aloitius&nbsp;is a powerful&nbsp; Priestess .

Just seen this message!!! Is it too late to join??
Really really enjoyed tonight's session, I think we worked really well as a team tonight - Love how each of our combat turns is snappy and fast moving! @Simon Good to see that you have found a way to use the turn tracker that you like too! ...and just a quick message to say that Saturday evenings and Wednesday Evenings are OK with me for the moment - but there may be the odd Saturday night I cannot join :)
...AND just discovered Hero Forge!! (<a href="http://www.heroforge.com" rel="nofollow">www.heroforge.com</a>) Started designing Syrus in miniature form - such fun! (Notice his "cloak of billowing" in action! HahaHA ;))
