I apologize if this has already been suggested and I simply didn't find it in my search... Here's a suggested add-on to global illumination that might also address other users' lighting requests...and "global illumination" could be even be subsumed into this feature. Allow the GM to define one or more "localities" Allow the GM to optionally assign each VTT square to one locality (Each square would also be assigned to the pre-defined "global" locality). Allow the DM to dynamically change the base lighting within each locality to none, dim, or bright. The light in each square would be the maximum of {global locality setting, locality setting, any light-emitting tokens that radiate into the square] This would allow the DM to create classic structures as a building in the outdoors, but dark inside...even with an open air courtyard. The DM could also dynamically change the "outdoors" for time of day: noon, night with a full moon, and night with no moon. This could also be used to represent the impact of "turning on the light switch" upon entering a room. Thoughts? Thanks for your consideration. Allen
