Campaign Journal - Day #12 - Sep 3, 2020

The battle with the dragon was dangerous,  even got to the point where I was willing to surrender.    Kodiak &  Sedriss  were in too deep and it was clear they had no desire to back down. They also claimed to have seen  Edvald  down there, which was quite surprising. I never did seem him myself.     We nearly met our death as this Dragon had power to spare a we were in his home. We were no match. As I was getting ready to for my journey to  Dolurrh ,  we all awoke fresh and ready for the day, with a new young man in our midst. I have no idea what happened, but I imagine we will learn more shortly.  

Kodiak's Journal:  Today's a good day to die.  We found the dragon, or rather, the dragon found us.  Man, we were overmatched.  It didn't help that half the party retreated and Sedriss and I moved forward.  If the dragon was not able to cast that damned darkness sphere, I think we would have had a chance.  Thornduk bought us time by appearing to appease the dragon as we tried to plan either to fight or escape. I spotted Edvald and we decided our best chance of completing the mission was to throw Edvald under the bus (whatever a  bus is).  We distracted the dragon with Edvald which allowed me to swim to his treasure island.  That got him pissed.  I was amazed that I was able to go toe to toe with him for nearly 5 rounds before everything went black.  I woke up fully ready to meet my ancestors and sorry I never got to avenge my slaughtered kin when I realized I was not dead.  I was in some strange place that appears to be outdoors.  Comrade bearcat is not with us.  I seem to remember he went down on the island. I hope to see him again.  He was  a fine companion.  We have a strange dwarf boy with us when we woke up.  We will have to find out who he is and how he got here.  Maybe that will help us figure out how we got here. Does this have anything to do with the Gatekeepers? (Cue the theme from Soap) Will Tari ever turn invisible again?  Will Vellios ever dry out? Will Sonn ever get the acid stains off his armor? Will Chuck and Bob ever consummate their unspoken love? and whatever happened to Scooby?  All this and more on the next episode of the Natural Ones.
