My name is Kyle and I’m a veteran DM branching out into the West Marches style of games. This game is a passion project for me as I’ve been adding to DH2e to better capture the feel of XCOM, my favorite tactical RPG. If you’re not familiar with this system don’t worry I’ve taught at least a hundred people how to play this game. The game is still fairly young with a small cadre dedicated of players at this time, but I’m eager to grow the community and share my work with other passionate people. This game is set in the XCOM 2 timeline where XCOM is a resistance movement as I believe this would allow the greatest freedom for character creation. My intent is to capture the quintessential XCOM experience by having interesting tactical and strategic maps and creating systems where players have interesting and meaningful choices to make in combat, in equipment choice, how to accomplish the mission’s objective, and how to advance XCOM as a whole. While XCOM is a very successful as a tactical RPG I have not forsaken fundamental aspects of a tabletop RPG. There is more mission diversity than go here kill aliens and hack the objective or rescue the VIP. Charisma and Intelligence characters can be incredibly valuable, and missions have been completed without firing a shot through cunning tricks and well placed words. There are more options than there seem to be and I consider myself pretty flexible. I’m also planning on exploring how Earth is different as a whole for humanity and fleshing out the relatively unused setting of Alien Occupied Earth.
