Anychance of android compatability?

Just wondering if it will be possible at any point to access roll20 campaigns through an android tablet? I tried with the chrome beta app and get an incompatable message.
We're definitely hoping to support this at some point in the next 6 months, yes. Here's a random (and probably flame-war-starting) question: If I were going to get an Android tablet for testing, what should I get? I'd like something that's as "representative" of the mid-to-high-end of the market as possible. I know next to nothing about the various options out there.
Android tablets fit into the same realm as a pc/laptop in that often the branding means very little and it all comes down to whats under the hood. Since the android os is nice and simple it's probably best to stay away from things such as a galaxy tab etc as they often shunt their own version ontop of the base os. This just means you get a whole lot of rubbish that is already out there on the market as 3rd party apps that do it better anyway. So really your only concerns are: 1.screen size 2.screen type (go for capacitive as it doesn't loose track of your touch) 3.cpu clock/cores 4.ram 5.onboard storage (not that inportant if you endure a microsd slot) 6.connections. Theres no reason you couldn't get a 7" tablet that can do just about anything you want for a price bracket of £100. Personally I fail to see the point of a tablet with a screen bigger than 7" as you may as well fork out extra for a netbook/laptop, only slightly more weight but pretty much the same dimensions.
As Richard mentioned, brand names don´t equate to quality. I picked a 10 inch Acer Iconica A500 and it works like a charm. Look for current OS for the android, currently it is 4.0.4 (Ice cream Sandwich) I do not know who comes up with these names.

I use a rooted Kindle Fire Running the latest Android 4 kernel. For $200 it's a great deal and there is a heck of a lot of support at xda-developers.com for it.
samsung galaxy seems to be the hot item.
Honestly, there's really no reason you even need a physical tablet for just basic app testing. Just use the emulator that comes with the Android SDK. Then you can post a beta and let all the Android users here take care of finding any device-specific quirks. The emulator has the advantages of being free and you can change the android version, screen size, and pretty much everything else at will. But if you do decide you want an actual tablet, I agree with the others who said that it really doesn't matter what brand; just pick one that matches the size, power, storage, and price that you want. And I'd always recommend making sure you get one that's easy to root, since that allows you to do so much more cool stuff :)
You could get a Nexus 7. It's Google core, pretty good hardware, and super cheap for what it is. Plus it's probably a good idea to make sure it'll look alright on a smallerish screen, since not everyone wants a 10" tablet. They're supposed to start shipping this month.
I actually did order a Nexus 7 to test with :-)

Very exciting news. I for one will be much more likely to use Roll20 once it'll work on my Asus.
Nice choice of testers. I am new to Roll20 but have been an android user for a while now, and having the ability to use Roll20 on my 7 or 10 inch tab will make my life much easier.
I'm about to pick up a Nexus 7, too. I'm totally looking forward to being able to use roll20 on the tablet.

I have a galaxy tab 2 7 inch and would be willing to help test it on my tablet if there was an app. I've already rooted and loaded a customized android os on it (had it for a month before doing that and the wife made me wait that long). As for what everyone else has said about brand and such, I agree with it. Figure out what you what to do with it then research the tablets. I like my tablet but it truly was not worth the money I spent on it. Find one that you can root and install custom roms that has the cpu/ram/storage that fits your needs.
