Starfinder Character Sheet: Additional Damage Query

Have a friend that has an attack called Entropic Strike.  Trying to setup a way that when he clicks the attack, it asks him if he wants to burn any entropic points (he'll select: 1 or 2 or 3 or 0). The Entropic Strike deals a normal 1d6... but if he has entropic points accumulated he can use which will add additional damage to the Entropic Strike.  Say if he's got 3 points accumulated and wishes to use 2 of them for this particular attack, he would roll 1d6, then add an additional 2d4 to his damage. In the character sheet under Weapons & Proficiencies > Attacks, we got an attack called Entropic Strike.  In the Damage Roll field I tried setting it up to popup a question asking him what to burn.  The macro (if that's what you call it) does popup a window after you're asked if it's Full Attack that asks you if you want to burn points and gives a dropdown with 1 or 2 or 3 or 0... but it appears when I select it, it does add the additional damage into the initial damage... but when you hover over the damage output... it doesn't tell you what it's from, 2 points from the 1d6 roll and 1 point from a 1d4 roll and 3 points from the other 1d4 roll... it simply gives you the grand total. Here's the syntax I used in the Damage Roll field:  [[1d6 + ?{Burn Entropic Points?:|1,1d4|2,2d4|3,3d4|No,0} ]] If I put that in the Attacher field (getting rid of the 1d6 in the beginning), it doesn't know to add it to damage and instead puts it as text in the notes section. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Hi Terry, The damage roll field is already wrapped in inline roll brackets by the sheet, you don't need the inline roll brackets in your macro. Try removing them and see if that does what you want.

On top of what Scott said, you can put inline labels in there to make it more readable on mouseover if you'd like: 1d6 + ?{Burn Entropic Points?:|1,1d4[1 EP]|2,2d4[2 EP]|3,3d4[3 EP]|No,0}
Thank you very much, that's exactly what I wanted.
