Still figuring out the cantrip for good introductions. So I rolled persuasion I rolled a 2 on this I think Eldenfall is a land nestled amidst a circle of staggering mountains with access to a small bay. Inside this rockey ring there exists twelve distinct nations. Their evolution greatly diverging from each other. From the towering smoke and steam stacks of the Cogworks; to the grating course sands of Lions Hunt. The glinting cavern of underwomb; to the dense folliage of the Leaves of Yaggdrasil. System : 5e with the obvious homebrew heavy additions. Game time: Fridays at 7pm mountain time till either people are satasfies, tap out, or 11 pm. Additional Info : I'm a newer dm looking to improve my skills. I'd absolutely love a long run campaign where characters progress and grow. I have a more experienced dm proofing all of the homebrew for balance. I am absolutely ok with character conflict so long as it's resolved in character. There is a discord server holding all info. Cultures and why : I wrote the cultures of Eldenfall because I wanted to give more depth to a world where a race doesn't determine a characters culture. So any race can be any culture. So I wrote cultures from steam punk to a caste system; high fashion to high vampire society. Each culture gets buffs to actions dependant on the values. Example of some of the non-culture homebrew: •The wooded : A state unique to high level druids of yag persuasion. This is a ritualistic way of life similar to Sokushinbutsu . The druid systematically begins a highly dangerous and painful process of turning his body into an "artificial" ent. The process starts with starving themselves on less and less food. To the point where the druid only swallows whole seeds without chewing. While bathing frequently and trying to promote algee to grow in superficial cuts and wounds. Progressing to seeding select fungus and saplings under their skin. Ritualistic disembowelment and the resulting cavity being filled with dirt and sealed up. Years in absolute still meditation. And finally after dying as their born race they are considered wooded. Vary few remain sentient and most become trees on sacred ground. •Bone eaters; This is a bloodline curse that does not manifest untill age 18 It cannot skip generations however is activated by consuming, sucking, chewing, or excessive work with bone. Families with this curse have an inborn fascination with bones and a taught hatred of them. The more they consume bone the less traditional food satasfies, the leaner they become, and more bone plating grows through their skin. Giving them the appearance of a skeleton that bleeds when cut. If a bone eater has consumed the bones of a higher creature their stats are tripled and they do not require food for 10 years. The required amount consumed is equivalent of 10 pounds. Tiny creatures (Squirrels and such) only sustain for an hour. Leading to newer bone eaters to be driven insane with hunger. Feel free to toss your app in or not. Or give constructive criticism. I'm down to learn.
