Darkvision help (Dynamic Lighting)

Hi, I've recently subbed and have been playing around with dynamic lighting and one of my PCs raised a point that for Darkvision 5e rules say it basically upgrades the light, so darkness becomes dim, and dim becomes bright. Is there any way to make this happen in Roll20 because at the moment there seems to be no interaction between the PCs vision and a light source (eg. a torch on a wall), so they're irritated that they aren't getting the full effect. Is there anyway to treat the Light as additive as in: Darkness=0, Dim=1, Bright=2? That way you could state that DV=+1, Truesight/Blindsight=+2 and it could represent the vision better? Or should I just tell them to deal with it how it is?(I don't want to be to harsh/rude since they are technically correct) I don't think I have access to the API with the lower sub tier but any help would be appreciated (Also if I posted this in the wrong place I'm sorry!)

Please post pictures of the page and PC token. It sounds like you are using the new lighting system, which does not have this functionality.

Note: with Legacy DL you can reduce the darkvision range by 2x and increase the light multiplier to 2x to somewhat simulate this effect.
Related to this, the DV rules also state that creatures cannot make out colours in the area of dim light. Is this possible to replicate, please?

Tim, not that I'm aware of. The closest I can think of is to either use a dark tint (UDL), or for LDL use a dark aura that only the character can see. Colors will still show through, but will be slightly washed out.
If I can leap in on this subject line, I just cant get Darkvision to do anything at all. Under the Dynamic Lighting tab I turned it on, set the distance, chose the tint colour, and have tried it both with & without sharpening. Then I do Ctrl-L and there's no difference made. I can sort of simulate it by having the token produce 30 feet of light that only it can see, with -5 ft dim setting, but really would like to get the real thing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The Torch on the wall is set up as standard (20/20) and the token is set as 60ft DV. His issue is the very bottom of this corridor isn't bright which he was concerned if a mob was there he wouldn't have as clear vision as he'd like.

Or is it because it doesn't allow you to select the Bright and Dim radii?

Looks like it, but can't say for sure on UDL, as I am waiting for all the bugs to be worked out before switching over. Try it and see what happens!
Shoot, I guess I'm on legacy? I only signed up for Pro yesterday so I figured I'd have the most up to date stuff. Like, I have every available option in both your screenshots and I've done exactly what you have in your set up (Night Vision toggled, distance set, tint set, sharpen toggled) but...nothing happens on the board. Is there any way to switch from legacy to the new one? Darkvision works much more smoothly, reliably, and closer to how it "should be" on legacy (LDL) right now. UDL darkvision is pretty bright, and the forums are full of folks complaining about a ton of bugs. I would advise against switching over until the platform is more stable. To set up LDL properly, you don't do anything with the "Dynamic Lighting" Tab. That is to activate UDL (note it reads "updated" next to theat tab). Go back to the Dynamic Lighting tab and set to "off", then turn on LDL in the main page settings tab. Example below. Then, you handle individual cases with token settings as David O. described.
