Hey, a shout out to the deep immersive role-players of the community. I am a dedicated Dungeon Master of 43 years' experience, running an RP-heavy game. FREE here on Roll20. I try my best to be a thoughtful Dungeon Master in the "Old Skool style" who really wants to make every campaign a great interactive, collaborative experience, and seek players who share that ideal. I am building a group that abhors player-vs.-player conflict, that prefers consensus-building. In a scenario, the party pulls together like a mule team to get the job done. We are 3 players and a DM seeking applicants for a position in our group. We want at least 1, possibly 2 more players to add to the group playing a Grim, Homebrew Dark-Ages-Style Low Fantasy, Low Magic campaign set in a dying Magocracy, beset by evil and religious strife. I want to gather expressive role-players, using a team concept, working together for an RP heavy experience , with story-supported combat, intrigue, puzzles, and lore. I require formal Social contract acceptance to play. We think the best of each other, minimal player conflict, no spotlight hogs / no murder hobos / No Chaotic Neutral antics hijacking the story at hand. LGBTQ friendly. Female player friendly. The pitch: 700 years ago... a wave of wild magic swept across the land of the Auld Empire of Uthithar, tearing the land asunder, twisting the very spires of the mountains, and warping the races and beasts of the wild. Tomes of Ancient Dragon Magicks were burned to ash by the last of the Dragons, lest their terrible power falls into the hands of the upstart humans. Thus began the Age of Lost Magick. Now the land is beset by dark human factions, Spirit-Wrack Witches, and Warlocks powered by the demonic and infernal, and their vile pacts of corruption. Many temples have fallen, or wiped out in the night, despite faithful guardians at hand. There are no Paladins, nor Druids left in the Land of the Magocracy of Valonde, and few good-aligned Mages. Thus begins the Age of Dark Magick, and the Tales of the Auld Empire. Looking for 1 more or possibly 2 players, with characters starting at Level 3. DM experience is a plus, but not required. We already have: - a Chaotic Good LVL 3 Duergar (Deep Dwarf) Artificer Urban Bounty Hunter - a Lawful Good LVL 3 Wood Elf "Order of the Lycan Blood Hunter" former Army Scout, afflicted with Lycanthropy - A Lawful Good LVL 3 Human Banneret Fighter Veteran Soldier No Drow, No Half-Orcs, or Tiefling PCs . Dragonborn might be okay if you can explain how your ancestors Survived the Wave of Blackfire, when the actual Dragons are all believed to be dead. No Paladins. No Druids. Looking mostly for traditional classes and races, unless you can demonstrate an impressive dramatic approach to the RP. Long Rests are once a week. Short rests once a day. I get it that this makes Warlocks powerful. Welcome to the setting. Most Warlock characters are enemies of civilization in this setting. Literally, the land is beset by Warlocks with Dark Pacts. Hard Start at 8 PM Pacific Time Thursdays. We wait 5 minutes, then start with who we have. 3 hour sessions (could go to midnight, if all players agree), once a week. Session 4 planned is coming up 29 October, 2020. The Recent Story: The party has come into posession of a Dwarven Gauntlet Relic that is being sought by three Dwarven Noble Houses vying for leadership of the Citadel of the Steel Blade Peaks, along a wilderness frontier to the East devastated by war. Lots of maps, and Lore. I do accents. However, My last Name is not Mercer. I do not have a Twitch channel, and do not stream. I am a retired gaming geek, military veteran, writer, and have over 40 years of DM experience, including working in the game industry as an editor. Read my profile. That's the deal.
