Lady Rowich's wizards have found a way to make a dousing rod that can detect the magical signature of the Sapphire Song ritualists. The Lady herself hires the team to seek out and eradicate the cultists, and reclaim their leader alive if possible. She offers them 75g each for every hideout they can clear, and 125g each if they bring the leader back. Using the dousing rod, the party finds two strong signatures to the southeast. Tracking them down, they go to the first one and find it occupied by a small team of rank-and-file cultists, four of whom are killed in the ensuing battle and the other 5 captured alive (though 2 paralyzed by spider venom).
