Campaign Journal Day 16

Into the wastes we go.  we march into the thick fog, Sedriss at the front and me guarding the rear.  None of us trust Eyegor's henchman much more than we trust the orc himself or Edvald for that matter.  A few of us consider just chucking the whole quest and watching the end of the world from a warm comfortable bed (In Gallanda Hall with Bacon), but our ethics get the better of us and we decide if we can do something to stop the evil, we should.  Not too far into the Mournlands we encounter a living cloudkill spell followed by these screeching lizard men.  We take them out pretty handily.  Barkley got the worst of it.= followed by Sonn who was hypnotized.  we continued on to Metrol where we rest in a ruined building and are attached by screeching ghost beasts.  Does everything in these forsaken lands screech.  I got to try out my flying boots and rain death from above.  We found a hatchway that leads to a teleport circle that will take us into the DoomVault.  Edvald cautions us about all the defenses.  I'm not optimistic about our chances.  Forgive me brother if I don't come back.
Upon entering the Mournland, we began to discover the sheer scale of the devastation these people experienced. It was beyond anything that that I could comprehend. I have seen some of the effects of the last war, but nothing like this before. Our travels through the mournland was unsettling, even more so when we encountered some sort poisonous cloud, similar to the spell Cloud Kill, but seemingly, alive. I’m not sure what to make of it, but it was…disturbing. We continued our journey, encountering further random resistance, but the team was more than capable of eliminating the threats.   Upon arriving at the entry point to the Doom Vault, Edvald let us know that we need to find a number of crystal keys of some form to gain entry to our target. There are a series of teleportation circles, which may lead us across Khorvaire, but the exact nature of which I am truly in awe. I have no idea how this is going to work, or if we’re even going to survive.   Regardless of what happens, I am with my friends, my family.
