Macro for spell slot scaling

D&D5e. Hello, im pretty new to Roll20 so I don't know a lot about macro coding, but I've searched for a macro that scales #dice rolls with spell level but I haven't seen one, so I guess it can't be done since there is no @spell_level variable. Nevertheless I post this in case someone has something.

Which game/sheet are you using? Some have this functionality built in, and some don't. But you can use a Query to achieve this manually if you need to: /r [[?{Cast at what level?|1|2|3|4|5}*2]]d6 would roll 2d6 per level slot used, /r 2d10 + [[?{Cast at what level?|1|2|3|4|5}-1]]d6 would roll 2d10 at 1st level, plus 1d6 per level upcast. And so on....
Oh sorry didn't specify game. I'm using the DnD5e sheet and it has some spells built in, but that macro you send is great for those that aren't built in, thank you!

If the spell has higher level casting built in, clicking on the name of the spell (casting it) should automatically give you a higher level slot query. If you are creating homebrew spells, follow the formatting and structure of an existing spell (ex. fireball) and it should work. If you are trying this and it is not working, please post a screen shot of the spell and we'll see if we can help.

Except for spells that rely on an attack roll if you don't have damage automatically rolled. For those, it only asks you after you click to roll the damage.

Did not know that. I usually roll in one action. Since this doesn't seem to be a question about API spell-slot deduction, does it make a difference when it asks? It would fulfill the requirements of the question: Phos said: ... I've searched for a macro that scales #dice rolls with spell level...
