One Line Characters

The purpose of this thread is to describe characters you currently play in one sentence . No huge backstories, just the "elevator pitch". In order to keep this ROll20Con-oriented, if the character is (hopefully) playing in a Con game, feel free to plug it or mention which games they will play in. People looking for players might see some good fits here, or get some ideas for what sorts of games and characters others are playing. Here are some examples (no games yet, of course): Random (D&D 5e), a lore bard/arcane trickster tiefling born without a conscience, but trying to create one for himself in a world that makes nothing simple. Marmaduke Gallant  (D&D 5e), a barbarian half-orc born in a poverty but obsessed with battling his natural rage by cultivating an air of sophistication that approaches foppishness. Malaya Five Arrows  (D&D 5e), a battlemaster human who is the resurrected form of an ancient legendary hero, trying to live up to the legend while fighting battle weariness and personal hatred of the races responsible for her original death. Tapper Brimstone  (D&D 5e), an artificer dwarf mustered out of his clan's militia and seeking the presumed-dead military warlord who killed his mentor and destroyed most of his company.

This looks fun, I'll throw one out there! Tiernan &nbsp;(D&amp;D 5E), Tiefling Glamour bard/Warlock. A once wholly unremarkable and disappointing second son of a high-ranking noble, Tiernan was constantly overshadowed by his can-do-no-wrong-Tom Brady-esque older half-brother, which made an offer of power and influence from a mysterious entity too good to pass up, but at what price...?&nbsp;

Gold, I played Lasers and Feelings last night for the first time. Surprisingly workable and fun.

Modar/Uldon &nbsp;- a Vedalkin WuJen/Immortal Mystic; only child (Modar/WuJen) struck unconscious by magical backfire who, upon waking, discovers he's now a twin (Uldon/Immortal); seems to talk to himself often but, in reality, talks (sometimes argues) with his other self even though it may be 100's of miles away, self-consciously knowing that he is not whole he is always in search of knowledge and perfection.&nbsp; (Played in 5e in-person as no VTT has Mystic class.)

Gary "Holy Avenger" Gray (Deadlands: Hell on Earth): A delusional harrowed martial artist who believes he isn't 'just' the town's superhero but also the town's mild mannered librarian. He narrates his life, believes he has a secret identity, and his 'library' is a run down ex comic book shop with nothing of any value to anyone except maybe an actual librarian. The town he protects is vacillating between killing the dangerous undead lunatic or letting him continue to wander around thumping anything dangerous that threatens the town. The town's other two dangerous adventurer types are probably the only reason he is still moving.&nbsp;

Currently enjoying being a player in a 5E Tyranny of Dragons campaign. Edlas Faewynn . Half-elf Celestial Warlock whose plans to continue his deceased grandfather's alchemy business (primarily soaps and perfumes) is constantly thwarted by his Solar patron's desire to stop a dragon cult from summoning Tiamat.

Always the GM, but... Bubbles (Savage Worlds Cyberpunk): Not only did is this party so good at working the party circuit, she made a business out of it, she is also the only person in the crew who is openly happy and joyful with everyone. Mariah (Savage Worlds Cyberpunk): &nbsp;An angry woman in her 30's, Mariah runs a drug assisted, hate filled conspiracy podcast with a ten of millions of subscribers (she is the bread winner of the crew) and is the only person in the crew who is activistly suspicious with the Lovecratian operatives that have moved into their flat. Danny (Savage Worlds Cyberpunk): &nbsp;A mechanical savant with an oversize cyberarm, Danny is a poor judge of character, overly trusting, and a terrible driver whose only friend in a tiny firefly no one else can see.&nbsp;

Here's some of my current characters: Baeshra (5e): Non-gendered Druid lizardfolk who likes to buy or acquire humanoid fingers for pickling and always refers to themself in the third person. Jo Eastwood (MotW): A Chosen who is 40, widowed, twice-divorced, blunt, carries a green bastard sword everywhere and just wants to stab monsters--oh and she's cursed. Sheri (Motw): Earnest 14yo vegan who sees dead people, and is the adopted daughter of the party's boss — who may or may not be a plant person. NPCs (5e): I'm the DM :P

Grenngew (5e)&nbsp; - grew up in possession of his grandfather's demonic book (he was a warlock), and while he has magical talent, tries to take only spells that can be passed off as wordplay, singing, or playing to people's emotions, hoping he never falls to or needs to turn to his Grandfather's legacy. (bard, lore) Mouse (5e) &nbsp;- a very alert urchin recruited for his perceptive nature and impeccable lookout skills (variant human, observant), he hides a lot of his past and holes up like his namesake to sleep (rogue, thief).&nbsp; The Most Interesting Man in the World (DC Heroes) - A fearless 67 year old man who is very, very convincing at bringing out what you really want to be doing instead of opposing him, tells great stories, and can break out of any restraints given time.

Ragini (D&amp;D 5e) - Goliath Wizard (Illusionist) from a town where brawn and courage are expected and lauded; her massive inferiority complex and self-ostracization (worsened by the might and valour demonstrated by her twin) motivate her to craft illusions for herself, wherein she is the strongest and the bravest. Antania (PF 2e) - Changeling Elf Witch (Curse) birthed by the magic of a coven of hags, in response to an Elven family burdened by a curse wrought by another coven of hags; stolen from the hags by the Elves, she is neither aware of her true parentage nor that her magic is twice-cursed.

Oooh boy I got a lot. Infinite (Shadowrun) Shapeshifter - Canine = A shapeshifting Canine who is a Jackal, He is a bit of an awkward one and was always the weakest in his pack so he became a runner to show off that he isn't worthless and weak. Magnus Wolfram (Dark Heresy) : A 40k Psyker who is my most Jack of all Trades character ever; adept Techpriest, Engineer, Action Figure collector enthusiast, Berserker In Close Combat, ranged Spellslinger, Xeno Enthusiast, Teacher, Jokester, Pretty boy, pilot, tank driver, Fort Builder, Ship Designer and best friend of a Techpriest. Tikika (Edge of the Empire) Force Emergent = Fresh character , female Jawa who discovered the Force but doesn't know what it is and is rather hyper active! Taichi Date (Only War, Dark heresy hybrid) = an Imperial Guardsman whos regiment got dissolved, deadly with fists and his entire Regiment was based on the old samurai which makes him even deadlier with a Sword. Zarhu Akaldir (D&amp;D 5e) Black Dragonborn = Necromancer who always wore a plague doctor outfit to hide his black hide and was always accompanied by a raven, silent and polite but incredibly intolerant to religion. Squish (D&amp;D 5e) Blue Kobold = Squish is a monk who loves the elementals and his tribe spent a lot of time with them, has a pet Praying Mantis called Squash who supposedly taught him the way of the Monk Mantid Style Marius Leitdorf ( Only War) = A Combat Psyker whom I have entirely based on the Warhammer fantasy Averland elector count Marius Leitdorf, hes socially awkward, loves books, and his companion is called Daisy Kurt and he knows about demons.

Carl Saveordie (Any system): &nbsp;This grizzled and mangled dwarf veteran, with his trusty pet Rottweiler "THAC0" at his side, shuns all things new, innovative ("pfft"), or otherwise contrary to how they used to do things back in the good old days.

I suspect Carl is never seen without a 10 foot pole...

Haha, yep, it's "strapped to his back", along with his two-handed sword, warhammer (for skeletons), shield, fully stocked backpack suitable for solo traversing the Appalachian Trail, 50ft of rope, water clock...

All Pathfinder First Edition Kai - A pathological liar with a questionable sense of humor and a cruel disposition to those who cross him or those he considers close, though he is generally a good guy, his isn't above flexing morality if it gets what he wants done. Johnny Two-Legs - An over the top cliche pirate that sank his dingy he called Majesty days after buying it, learning to fight as a ninja in a foreign land without ever leaving the ideals of a pirate behind (a pirate never goes anywhere without his guns, all 9 of them) Lasair Foraoise - A not-so-bright fire wielding evangelical follower of the Green Man, the deity that started the society of druids, that combats his foes with his sick moves and friendly cactus companion, Spikey Boi

Aragryn De Leos (Demon Gate) a sword master from Espadosa. He ran from the husband of a woman he fell in love with, after the man killed her in his jealous rage then pinned the murder on him, the dashing rogue fled his homeland in search of a better life.... but you cant always run from your demons...or the assassins they send. Daniel Whiting (KULT) A writer, a father, and a pathological liar/ serial killer with severe PTSD from his time in the Army Rangers. Caleb Marx (City of Mist) A P.I. with the curse of lycanthropy who used to be a cop but lost control and killed and innocent man. Now he tortures himself, drowns himself in alcohol and pills, and tries to take care of his victim's wife and child to somehow cope with what he has done. Dr. William Stevens (Call of Cthulhu) An anthropologist and spy for British Intelligence is sent to investigate the disappearance of a mummy in the sands of Egypt. He runs into two ladies who are on their own assignment and ends up becoming tangled in the Masks of Nyarlathotep .&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;

Okay technically i wrote more than one line

Medae of Sslag: a mythic Nagaji fighter who lost her people to a plague brought on by the evil wizard her party now pursues. Also, she likes throwing darts. O'range Lapin: A French Rabbit Bard who is just looking for a good time, and maybe some more topaz gems that she may or may not have taken from the party items when the tortoise and otter weren't looking.

I'm usually the GM and only play in one campaign myself, so only 1 char that is not a npc and more than a concept for the future. Oriana Penningford (20yo, NE, human variant, Divine Soul Sorceress 5/Knowledge Domain Cleric of Shar 1) is currently distracted from her quest to find a remedy for a curse over her family that claims every caster at the age of about 30-35ish, by being stranded in barovia, and spreading her mischief as a social caster there and generally not really caring about anyone but herself and her search for a longer life.
