Random triangle in dynamic lighting

Not me in particular, but a friend recently setup dynamic lighting in his game and is having the issue that towards the top left side of the screen there is a sort of aberrant triangle of light on his screen and his screen only his screen (everyone in the game has tested and it's not there). He can't seem to find any info on it and how to fix it so if anyone has had this issue and knows how to help that would be great.

Did he rotate any DL lines? That will cause weirdness - the lines itself appears to rotate but it will still block light from its original orientation. He'll have to find those lines, delete and redraw them if that's the case.
Hello, I noticed the same issue with a "light triangle" that appears when using Dynamic Lighting with Explorer Mode turned on. When zoomed in, there is no light triangle, but as you zoom out, a triangle of light appears in the upper left corner of the map, and gets larger as you continue to zoom out, eventually revealing 1/2 the map, diagonally! This has the effect of revealing part of the map that should not be revealed to players, ie before they've explored it. By turning off Explorer Mode, this bug goes away. Is there a fix for this?

This is likely the known issue where a broad black diagonal line obscures the central portion of the map, revealing a "triangle" in the corner. It seems to be a Mac-specific issue. Are you on a Mac?
Yes, I use a Mac, as the DM. Only one of my players uses a Mac, and the rest use PCs. Do you know if the players are able to see the areas in the "light triangle" when they zoom out, too?

You'd have to create a test page and call them in. I've only seen the issue reported on a Mac. It appears to be a diagonal band, and the triangle is just what shoes at certain magnifications. There is a different issue which will reveal the entire map for some players at full zoom out. If you are concerned, I would look into using LDL for the time being. I do.
That is most helpful, thank you!
My friend is using a Mac so I'll suggest using Legacy lighting to them. They just resorted to using Fog of war for the time being.
Two of my players are experiencing the same issue. At certain 'zoomed out' magnifications, the dynamic lighting exposes the map in the top left corner. This only occurs when explorer mode is turned on. All four of us are on Mac using chrome (have also tested firefox). It would really be great to have this fixed, no fun having surprises spoiled by lighting bugs. Here are the details of the machines with and without the issue: Triangle Issue: - Early 2015 13" MBP retina w/ Intel Iris macOS 10.14.6 - Early 2015 MBA w/Intel HD 6000 1535MB 10.13.6 No Triangle Issue: - 2018 15" MBP w/ Radeon Pro 560X 4 GB macOS 10.15.7 - 2016 15" MBP w/Radeon Pro 455 2 GB macOS 11.0.1 Possibly related to the integrated intel graphics?

Im experiencing this issue on Windows 10 and my dynamic lighting is turned off. However, moving around tokens will change these triangles and create yellow bands of light on the right side of the map. EDIT: Its maybe worth saying that I am a GM on this game and the other player who is in the game doesnt see anything. Re-joining as a player does not fix the issue.
I have been experiencing this for a couple weeks now and am looking for a solution. About two weeks ago I updated games to UDL and it ruined all my games. Very frustrating for me and some of my players. I am here now hunting for a solution.    Ondair said: Im experiencing this issue on Windows 10 and my dynamic lighting is turned off. The person just above your first post in this thread reported that the problem disappeared after they stopped using XSplit and switched to OBS. Are you using any streaming software? BTW, the original post in this thread was for an entirely different issue, which has since been resolved.
Was anybody able to figure out this issue?  I'm having similar problems and it's making it really hard to play and DM. Dario M. said: AGAIN! on game prep!
Not yet - it has not happened for me since my game last Saturday and i even left my PC on for several hours to try as someone in another thread said it was a time thing since a few weeks ago. Very scared of this coming up again mid-fight this weekend. The last fight was troglodytes so I fudged the ending of it as the issue appeared.
