Thank You For Playing today's game 10/11/2020 - From 8:15 EDT, until 11:00 pm EDT, and our 265th Gaming Session, goes out to:   Barbarian – Human Female – Zhora & Cleric – Human Female - Sheila - Chris M.   Cleric / Thief – Human – Dalnoth - Gabe G.   Magic-User - Elf - Xilicien -  Devin M.   Monk (Oriental) – Human –Lo Shan -  Roxxifarius     Paladin Knight – Human – Lord Cromther - cromth   Ranger – Half Elf – Camlin  –  Buddy-D     Whom Could Not Make It Today!   Ranger – Half Elf – Pavel - Mark D.     Game Summary for Sunday Evening (10/11/2020):   Opening Scene: It is now 35 days into the adventure (since setting off in the Belle Venture), and August 29th, 1:30 pm on day 31 on the isle.   The adventures decide to head over to Horan’s compound in order to meet or set up a meeting with him.   The outer walls of the compound are 15 ft high and covered in vines that are trimmed down to 3 ft short of the top of the wall. Along the top of the all, apparently on a walkway can be seen Bugbear and Bullywug  guards patrolling along the top. In two roofed towers to either side of the gate, Yuan-Ti guards are visible. They talk to one of two Yuan-ti guards, a pure blood, the other a half blood. And he hollers down to someone on the other side to see if Horan can see them and it turns out that they can.   So, the front gate is unlocked and swung open as a lone Bullywug greets, Dalnoth and Lo Shan to step inside and follow him. The rest of the party waits outside.   They are lead past two bullywug and one Bugbear guard whom each has a leopard with them, to an oriental styled house, made of wood with stone for support. The roof is a combination of shingle and tile. A wide porch encircles a large portion of the house. The outside walls consist of wooden slats and shutters, the shutters are currently open.   They are lead up onto the porch and to the front door where the Bullywug guard, let’s you inside.   Once inside they enter the hearth room, The interior walls are thin wooden partitions. All doors are brightly painted sliding paper panels. In the center is a square, stone fire pit. In the ceiling directly above it, is a smoke hole. Attached to an iron rod frame over the pit is a teakettle-like pot with a large handle.   About the room are several rice straw mats, two low tables and a built-in shelf with several statuettes.   Horan greets Dalnoth and Lo Shan, asking what he could do for them today, as two bugbear guards stand nearby.   Lo Shan, tells Horan that they work for a merchant house that wants to open a trade agreement, as an easier way to get the fruits and skins from these lands.   Dalnoth tells Horan that their boss is but a minor player compared to his imminence. When asked what they wish to sell in the city, Lo Shan says, skins and other goods from across the Gulf of Halag, Sea of Dread and Sea of Dawn.   Horan queries if they wish to have a pass and permit to sell their wares and travel to and from the city and Lo Shan says yes, if he would be so kind.   Horan, agrees to let them have the pass and permit and goes to retrieve the items needed, as he motions Dalnoth and Lo Shan to have a seat at one of the low tables.   Horan returns with the needed items and has both Dalnoth and Lo Shan sign parchments for the commerce permit and the travel permit. Horan then hands them a small golden tablet and tells then that it is needed to show the guards in order to pass in and out of the city. All 3 sign the papers, a copy each for Horan the merchants (adventurers).   Horan tells them that they can now safely travel in and out of the city to sell their goods in the Forbidden City and wishes them good fortune.   When asked if there was anything more, Horan could do for them, Lo Shan says, bowing his head, “That is all that we ask of you on this day.”   With that Horan, bids farewell and has his bullywug guard now lead them back out of the compound.   Once outside Dalnoth shows the rest of the group the gold tablet pass, saying, “We can now come and go as we wish.”   From here it is decided to go have a look at a warehouse in the north west temple quadrant of the city.   Dalnoth looks for a trap on a double door into the warehouse, rolling a 27%, needing ≤ 50%, he does not find a trap!   Seeing the door is locked, Dalnoth, attempts to pick it open, rolling a 55%, needing ≤ 77%, the lock is picked open and the warehouse is entered!   Lord Cromther, looks to detect evil when they enter however that is interrupted as stirges begin to attack the party! One swoops down upon Camlin from a ceiling 20 feet up, and managed to attach itself to his neck, biting then sucking blood, doing 3 damage plus 2 more in blood drain!   Initiative Rolls are made and Round #01 of Combat starts!   Stirge #08, sucks 2 more hit points of blood damage from Camlin!   Stirge #07, missed Lo Shan!   Xilicien, casts the Magic Missile spell sending 4 of them at 4 different stirges, which sends Stirge #07 plummeting to the floor dead, the rest injured!   Stirge #10, missed Xilicien!   Dalnoth, throws a dart at Stirge #09, but it goes wide!   Lo Shan, tries to whack Stirge #10 with the 3-piece-rod but missed!   Pavel, using his magical Geldered short sword +2, scores a hit on Stirge #10, for 5 damage defeating it!   Lord Cromther, using his weapon of choice, the long sword which is double specialized, scores a hit on Stirge #08, for 11 slashing damage, defeating it!   Camlin, fires an arrow from his magical Foeseeker long bow, dealing 7 damage to Stirge #09, defeating it!     Combat Round #02!   Stirge #06, missed Pavel!   Lo Shan, missed Stirge #06 with the 3-piece-rod!   Pavel, hits Stirge #06 with the Geldered short sword +2 for 9 damage, defeating it!   End of Combat!   Camlin, does a search of the north and east walls, taking 20 minutes and no secret door was to be found.   In this room, with pillars holding up a 20 ft high ceiling, are two mangonels, barrels and chests. Dalnoth, starts to open the barrels, which turn out to be munitions for the mangonels. The first chest is checked for a trap by Lo Shan and none was found, so he tries to pick open the lock but fails to do so!   Dalnoth was able to pick open the lock and opening the chest reveals gold coins!   Dalnoth then checks for a trap on another chest and does not so he picks open the lock successfully and opens it to reveal gems and jewelry!   Lord Cromther, tries to detect evil in the room and does not.   Lo Shan, checks for traps on another chest and did not find one so he tries to pick open the lock and does so, revealing gold coins!   Dalnoth goes to the east double doors and attempts to hear noise on the other side but did not, so he moves to the west double doors and tries listening beyond them but hears nothing there either.   Dalnoth then checks for a trap on the east double doors and did not find one he the successfully picks open the locked doors, extremely easily, (rolled a 1%)!   It is another similar room with a pillared 20 ft high ceiling and various racks with shields and different types of armor.   Dalnoth goes to the west double doors and did not hear anything beyond them so he checks for a trap and did not find one. The lock on the door is picked open successfully.
