Have a test campaign available for new users?

Just joined and I've watched the video.  The interface looks great, we're trying a test campaign tonight, though it would be nice to be familiar with the interface beforehand.  To that end, it would be great if there was a way for new users to quickly jump on a test campaign (maybe even just a simple solo campaign with a simple map and a few objects).

David, if you need any help setting up send me a PM and I could give you a quick hand.  - Gauss
Already done, and also did some testing with the interface. It's really great. The big hangup we had was with all the work in maintaining turns, which we want to do in the system so everyone can see. But doing everything manually is a chore. I'm a little surprised, with all the excellent dice rolling mechanics, that I can't put a value such as '1d20+4' into the table for a given character, and then have a 'calculate values' which updates the numbers (but saves the 1d20+4 for future calculations).  Then it would be damn easy to figure initiative on a variety of platforms.  When there's a new attack, add the new creatures, add their initiative rolls, hit the calculate button, and have it show the answers sorted with the party members.

David, perhaps you could explain what you need and I can see if we have a tool that will help. If you need an initative tracker we have one that can be found on the left toolbar. - Gauss
I think if you reread my last paragraph, it explains what I'm looking for.  We are using the turn tracker which I presume is the initiative tracker you are talking about.

David,  I have reread it but there are contexts that are missing. I could use further information.  What I got out of your post: 1) Your statement: "The big hangup we had was with all the work in maintaining turns, which we want to do in the system so everyone can see." My understanding: You are having an issue with maintaining turns. To me this would indicate either that you are not using the turn tracker or that something about it is inadequate to your needs. Thus, more information is required. 2) Your statement: "I'm a little surprised, with all the excellent dice rolling mechanics, that I can't put a value such as '1d20+4' into the table for a given character, and then have a 'calculate values' which updates the numbers (but saves the 1d20+4 for future calculations)." My understanding: You want to calculate some form of values but you do not indicate what, from where, or how they would be used. Simply put, I dont have any context and thus, more information is required. 3)  Your statement: "When there's a new attack, add the new creatures, add their initiative rolls, hit the calculate button, and have it show the answers sorted with the party members." My understanding: You want to add creatures' initiative to the turn order. Again, I must be missing the context since you can do so already. Thus, more information is required. More details help when asking for new features. Everyone uses Roll20 differently with so many different systems that exact examples are necessary to know what you wish to have happen.  - Gauss
Ah, let me see if I can clarify. We *are* using the Turn Tracker, but it seems that you can only add the PCs and NPCs and then type in values (say from all the initiative rolls) and then do a sort.  I presume this is what you mean by 'Initiative Tracker' - but if there is an 'Initiative Tracker' that is different from the 'Turn Tracker' then I am missing it somehow. It would be great if, instead, I could type in the initiative roll formula for each character, such as '1D20+4' for one character, '1D20-2' for another, and so forth, and then when we have a new encounter, I could hit a roll button and it would do those rolls and sort the characters accordingly (but remember the roll formulas for each character).  When a new encounter happens, I add the new NPCs, then have it do the rolls again and sort again. Would be a nice way to support automatic turn tracking for many systems.
That level of automation for initiative and such most likely will not be supported natively by Roll20. Each person can roll and enter their own initiative scores into the tracker by clicking on the zero next to any tokens they have control over. What you want may  be possible if the scripting stuff in an API is released, but that will probably be only available to people that support Roll20 with a subscription.

Sorry about my terminology Initative Tracker = Turn Tracker.  Ahhhh, I see what you are saying now. No, at this time that is not available. Thank you for explaining it. One note: I noticed you said that you type in the number. You could drag it from the chat window. That might speed things up slightly.  - Gauss

I havent seen that issue before Taki, could you get a screenshot and post a bug report the next time it happens? Steps to reproduce it would be very helpful. - Gauss
