Specific token only visible/active for some players

Really bizarre issue cropping up in one of my games. Here's the lowdown: I have a generic token (aptly named "token" in my image library) that I use for generic townsfolk and other placeholder things. I use it frequently when setting up crowded maps, particularly in towns and such. This week, I discovered that I could no longer see or interact with any of these tokens I had placed. So here's the weird part:   half of my players COULD see them. The other half (and myself) could not. And despite clicking around the invisible tokens and trying to move them, the players that could see them reported that they were not moving. The problem has persisted for a few days, and it's very unfortunate because I have several future maps that use a lot of these tokens. So, cut my losses and just replace all of them, right? Nope! Dragging and dropping new instances of the token from my image library still results in them being invisible to half of the group, but the other half of the players can still see me placing them! So if I just replace more tokens, half of my party will see double tokens. Frankly, I'm stumped here. Anyone else have this issue? More possibly relevant info: I'm a pro user, I still have plenty of storage space (although these generic tokens are very old at this point - at least 3 years if not more since I first used them). I can see them in my image library just fine. It's just as soon as I drag them to a map that I (and half of my players) can no longer see or interact with them.
Giving this a quick bump here - I have a game this weekend and would love to see if this is solve-able before then. Any experience anyone has had with this problem is appreciated.
