The adventurers spend a day and night at the castle, watching the repair efforts of the giants and ogres and keeping watch. On the morning of the second day, Brin notices something strange...all the orcs have disappeared! They ask Blagothkus about this, but he knows no more than they do. Soon enough, the mystery is solved as an alarm is sounded by the lookouts! A huge gathering of orcs, at least 200 strong, is outside the walls. The orcs are not alone - many cultists join them from the nearby camp. Blagothkus, knowing that the castle must be held until the storm giants can arrive to join the fight, asks the adventurers to protect the lower caverns. He and his ogres will hold the walls. Down in the ice caverns, the party is confronted by a probing attack of about a dozen orcs. But the adventurers have prepared with an entangle patch from Mella, wolves summoned by Tammy, and an insect swarm conjured by Normina. The orcs are quickly decimated, with only one survivor managing to limp back to report. A second assault, with twice as many attackers, soon follows. But the party has prepared for this as well! Normina once again summons a swarm of biting insects that the weaker orcs cannot survive, and Brin cuts away a huge chunk of the ice cavern ceiling, crushing their stronger brethren and blocking the entryway. A group of ogres bring word from Blagothkus, requesting the party's aid on the walls. The cult's dragons have finally joined the fray! Leaving the ogres to hold the blocked passageway against any more orcs, the adventurers rush up and into the courtyard. There they find Blagothkus engaged with one dragon, while another is defeating ogres and destroying parts of the castle. Further, a group of cult warriors has followed the dragons and harries the giant defenders. Tammy recognizes the dragon engaged with Blagothkus as Glazhael, the white dragon who previously guarded the cult treasure in this very castle. The second dragon is Arauthator, who the adventurers fought in his iceberg lair - and he remembers them as well! Despite their new bodies, he knows the smell of the party that drove him from his lair, and he turns to the attack! Arauthator leaps to engage Normina, dealing several blows and frightening nearly the whole party. Despite their fear, the adventurers fight back, with arrows from the ranger and lightning from the sorcerer dealing heavy blows. Meanwhile, Mella assists their giant ally, healing Blagothkus so he can continue the fight against Glazhael. A blast of freezing cold from Arauthator hammers the cleric and bard, though thanks to her goliath heritage Brin is barely affected. Another lightning bolt flashes from the sorcerer's fingertips and Arauthator falls! It takes only a few more moments for the party to regroup and assist Blagothkus to defeat Glazhael also. With both dragons fallen, the cultists lose their nerve and flee. With the castle made safe, Blagothkus and the adventurers move to the walls, and see that the battle outside is over as well! Brunvild and his storm giants have arrived, and are chasing fleeing orcs and cultists across the snowy waste. In the aftermath of the battle, the giants are extremely grateful to their allies. Blagothkus promises that he will bring the castle and his giant brothers to the Council to coordinate their attacks, when the time comes to assault the Cult's base of operations. With the dragons defeated and the cult forced into retreat, their mission is a success!
