ok and here we are back at the manse at the front steps Dolores the Human Wizard Says: "Have we been upstairs?" Dungeon Master (GM): take it from there adventurers I believe it was Dolores that did have a peek at the hallway upstairs when she went halfway up the stairs Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "No not upstairs yet" Farren Nidanas: "I believe we haven't checked the other rooms at the ground level" Dungeon Master (GM): yep, looks like 4 locations you have not explored on the ground floor Following a trail through the woods, you come to a foggy clearing, in the midst of which stands a crumbling two-story manse all but hidden beneath thorny ivy. The large house is set atop a six-foot-high stone foundation, and the main entrance has a balcony above it. Pumpkins grow wild in patches around the manse, with several wild boars feeding among them. The boars snort with contempt as you draw near. Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Check the ground floor first make sure the basement is clear then go upstairs" Do we make bacon first? Dungeon Master (GM): granted they do seem to want to attack you at the moment more like sort of warning you not to go near them. there is ivy all around the manse covering the walls Roqar: If the boars dont attack leave them go inside Dolores: yes Dungeon Master (GM): ok as you enter you note the ceiling is 8 feet in height and flat. someone move a token where you wish to go explore. The walls are covered with crude drawings in blood that depict boars chasing stick-figure humanoids. A fireplace dominates the south side of the room, and a smashed wooden dining table lies in a heap in the eastern half of the room, surrounded by six broken chairs. Windows are 2½-foot wide, 5-foot-high apertures with wooden shutters but no glass. Those along the outside walls are covered with ivy Roqar is in the dinning room where you had taken the candelabrum and see the remaining stick figures of all in the party aside of Roqar. Dungeon Master (GM): sitting upon the mantelpiece Roqar: if they are still there not touching them Dolores: not touching them either Dungeon Master (GM): ok Roqar: North door Dungeon Master (GM): alright Roqar: 24 | 14 Thieves' Tools (2+0+4) Roqar Dungeon Master (GM): ok looks like you open the door! Roqar: Wait for whats there first Dungeon Master (GM): Nature has run roughshod over this kitchen, whose furnishings are wholly decayed. The outside door was broken down years ago, and rats have chewed holes in the bottom of the door leading to the west. Roqar: 4 | 17 INVESTIGATION (0) Roqar Dungeon Master (GM): ok, Roqar does not find anything out of the ordinary in the kitchen Dolores looks outside Roqar squats down and looks in the holes along the bottom first Dungeon Master (GM): you spot a couple more boars in more pumpkin patches ok, it's dark on the other side and you can't really tell what is in there! Roqar: 22 | 25 Thieves' Tools (2+0+4) Roqar Dungeon Master (GM): opening the door reveals a pantry: Much of the roof above this chamber has collapsed, leaving debris scattered across the floor. Birds have made nests on the wooden shelves that line the north and south walls. Rats long ago devoured anything they could reach, and all other foodstuffs have rotted away. Roqar: 16 | 14 INVESTIGATION (0) Roqar Dungeon Master (GM): Roqar did not find anything out of the ordinary in the pantry Roqar: 12 | 15 Thieves' Tools (2+0+4) Roqar East Door this time Dungeon Master (GM): that's just a window there Roqar! the shutters are stuck shut from the ivy Stone steps lead down to a flagstoned courtyard that has a pillared arcade to the east. Seven windows on the upper level overlook the courtyard, in the middle of which is a five-foot-wide stone well with thick vines erupting from it. there are no sounds coming from the south east like before. trying that door Roqar? Roqar: 21 | 24 Thieves' Tools (2+0+4) Roqar Dungeon Master (GM): she opens it to reveal the following: This room was once a bedchamber, kitchen, and dining room rolled into one. Four beds stand along the south wall, with shuttered windows and nightstands between them. Against the west wall are four wardrobes and a cabinet full of plain dishware and cutlery. Four chairs surround a small dining table in the northeast corner, and a trestle table strewn with pots and cooking utensils stands near a blackened fireplace. All the furnishings are made of wood. The ceiling in the southwest corner of the room has collapsed, filling the area below with debris and leaving a jagged hole through which the room above is visible.
Roqar: 15 | 13 INVESTIGATION (0) Roqar Check out the room Dungeon Master (GM): ok, Roqar did not find anything unusual in the room. Roqar: Can I climb up into the above room? Dolores: (oh my god did yuuki die) Dungeon Master (GM): where Dolores is now, is a dimly sun lit room ( from the window Dolores jumped out of ): What used to be some sort of laboratory lies in ruins, its furnishings broken and heaped against the walls. In the middle of the room, painted on the floor with mud, is a ten-foot-wide symbol depicting three lightning bolts joined at their tips. Roqar: (Yes she did) Dungeon Master (GM): oh yes, Yukki's body is still there, rotting away. looks to have been feasted upon as well. Dolores: nasty Dungeon Master (GM): ok i see you are at the north east door Roqar: 22 | 7 ACROBATICS (4) Roqar Dolores tries to open the door Dungeon Master (GM): ok, but how do you climb up to that hole? ok it opens for you Dolores This room has a ten-foot-high wooden balcony forming its upper level, reached by a wooden spiral staircase curling down to the flagstone floor. Tall, empty bookcases line the walls, their shelves mostly bowed and broken. On the lower level, east of two pillars, are four old desks with chairs tucked behind them. A few moldy books are scattered about. Roqar: its about 8 feet up 5 ft tall, jump maybe brace against the wall grab onto the pieces of the ceiling Dungeon Master (GM): ok, looks you can do that and have succeeded due to the low ceiling. hold on as i look for what you see up there Roqar. As for the others in the library, what are you doing in there? ok, this room once had fine furnishings in it but all are now destroyed, Roqar. Dolores: anything that looks useful in those moldy books Dungeon Master (GM): Library explorers what are you doing? ok Roqar: 5 | 3 INVESTIGATION (0) Roqar Dungeon Master (GM): just books on history, biology, alchemy. Roqar: 19 | 12 ACROBATICS (4) Roqar Dungeon Master (GM): there is the balcony? do you want to go up the spiral stairs and have a look? did you jump back down Roqar? Dolores: i go up with willie Roqar: Yes came back down Dolores: is this a door Dungeon Master (GM): bookcases line the walls up on the balcony that is a shuttered window, so you need to open it to get sunlight in or be using a torch up here. Dolores opens the shutters Dungeon Master (GM): ok, the ivy holds it stuck shut, so you need to cut through it to open it. ok exploring the bookcases? Dolores: mhm dolores eats books for dinner Farren Nidanas: Speaks in a higher tone but not shouting "What do you two see up there?" Roqar: Roqar goes by Dolores and Willie see what they are up to? Dungeon Master (GM): ok Dolores: 21 | 16 INVESTIGATION (5) Dolores Dungeon Master (GM): Dolores finds more moldy old books, titled in Elven. any that can read it? Roqar: Roqar can Dungeon Master (GM): one of the desks up here has a book under a leg to level it Dolores: that looks important Dungeon Master (GM): ok, Roqar, flips through one of the elvish books and sees that it is describing long lost elven kingdoms and civilizations. Is Dolores having a look at the book supporting the desk leg? Roqar: Tosses the book "Garbage" Dungeon Master (GM): yea, it's to moldy to her to be of any value Dolores: well it doesnt look like theres anything worth looking at up here is the book supporting the desk leg in elven too Dungeon Master (GM): not looking at the book under the leg then? Dolores checks Roqar: Yes Roqar will Dungeon Master (GM): it is titled in elven, "Elvish Idioms".
