Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden - Mistakes on Duergar Outpost map.

The Duergar Outpost map has a few mistakes. Firstly, for Dynamic Shadows, there is a shadow-wall blocking what is supposed to be just a staircase on the southwestern side of the area. To show another staircase that is done properly in the northeastern section of the map; Additionally, the two NPC character tokens for 'Brojk' and for 'Nildar Sunblight' have visible names to all players

There is an inconsistency.  But that's 20 feet of upward stairs.  Someone at the bottom shouldn't be able to see what's going on above until they move up and GM removes the block.  So actually the first one is correct and second one should have a block added.  I always run back and forth between showing all names and not showing all names.  I actually like showing all names because players realize that this is someone they need to pay attention to.  As I look at the named NPCs in this campaign, they are ALL set to show names.  If you don't like that you'll need to hide the names.

If that *is* the case, which it isn't on the other 98% of staircases, then both should have an orange removable door. As it stands, the staircase wall is 'attached' the rest of the walls all around that area. Edit: It is also entirely flush with the walls, so players can't even see that there is a staircase there. If there's going to be a wall to block view because of a staircase like that, it should be placed halfway (and be the single orange strips) so the players can see the stairs and it can be easily removed by the DM. For the second one, alright, fair, the other ones are set to show names... but they really shouldn't be. A player shouldn't know the names of every NPC and creature before any information is even given. I'll have to manually go through and change every single token unless there's a shortcut like the 'apply default settings' which there does not appear to be for the 'Show Names to Players' option.

Hi Spadie, The best way to get this fixed is to file a  Help Center Request . It will be seen by the devs, assigned a ticket, and the fix should be in the next patch.

Sorry didn't see from your pic that the "door block" DL is actually part of the entire wall.  That's definitely a bug.  If you remove the "door block" suddenly the entire section of walls disappear.  But it is easy enough though to place a named token onto gm layer and remove the show name.  Simple.  Some players like the names shown.  Other's don't.  For this campaign, names are shown.  It's a design choice

Yes, agreed, but alas they aren't consistent.

It could also be that standards have changed and older modules are not up to newer standards. I believe different standards regarding sight on NPC tokens was one of these changes (it is off by default now). They should be consistent within the game though.
