I've had a character planned out for Curse of the Crimson Throne since about April now. Unfortunately, the campaign that I was in fell apart before our first session and I've been left in the dry. I'm 18 and been playing Pathfinder/D&D3.5 for six years now. I'm free Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday after 3:45 pm EST and free all day every day on any other day. Player : Miles Character : Jericho ‘The Visionary’ Swannock -Race: Human -Class: Witch -Alignment: LE -Campaign Trait: Love lost (widowed) - Image : - Sheet : Sheet (He is 38 so I put the middle age modifier on him which is why his stats look like that) - Character Background : Jericho was born into a patrician family, which was one of many, when the first walls of Castle Korvosa were completed. Although not belonging to a major noble house like that of House Bromathan or Endrin, Jericho did not experience much want in his adolescence as his ancestors made many gains during the influx of immigrants after the end of the Cousin's War. Both his parents worked for the Magistrates, though Jericho does not currently know in which capacity they served. At the age of eighteen, he heard of his parent's involvement in a conspiracy on the throne. Learning of this and knowing their ploy could destabilize the place he loves so dearly, he alerted officials of it and helped take down and execute his parents and the other conspirators. The organization behind the plot having heard of what Jericho had done, sent a thug to murder the only person he still had in his life, losing his lover sent him into a spiral seeking to uncover the secrets of the city and The Underground. Having always had a distaste for the simple noble life, Jericho enrolled and completed his course in the Academae. It was within the Academae that Jericho would form his belief that nobility is a fool's game. Seeking power to strengthen himself to protect Korvosa from any threat, Jericho found himself the recipient of a Patron's gift... a single raven that whispered to him in Abyssal. He uses this raven to spy on those who do not have the city's best interest in mind hoping to one day hold enough power to protect the place he loves. - 3 NPCs that will appear from your past/present/future that are useable in-game -NPC 1 Cedric Froogryd was the Arbiter that worked Jericho’s case after the execution of his parents and their allies. He has helped guide Jericho in how to plan ahead in political matters. He is someone who Jericho knows he could call upon in a time of need, but he has not been made privy to Jericho’s plans for a coup. -NPC 2 Rorick Darkwim is a military leader for the city guard. He was stern and very hard on Jericho as he knew he came from a patrician family. Rorick grew to respect Jericho as he saw that Jericho expected to be treated the same as everyone else regardless of his nobility. Rorick has a lot of clout within the military ranks of Korvosa and Jericho hopes to be able to call upon that in his plot against the throne. Rorick is currently Jericho’s ideal candidate for the seat of Strength on the council. -NPC 3 Elizabeth Franz was a noblewoman and Jericho’s lover. Having known each other since childhood Jericho took a liking to her in their adolescence. They dated for two years before Jericho revealing his’ parents plot would put her life on the line. The organization that his parents were a part of sent an assassin after Elizabeth, ending her life. Jericho blames her loss on himself, but does not dwell on it negatively, rather he uses it to push himself forward. Jericho seeks to destroy the unnamed organization in the name of Elizabeth. Who is your Character? A wannabe leader who envisions a better future for Korvosa. What does being their Race mean to them? He thinks nothing of his race, as he thinks nothing of race as a whole. What does their Class mean to them? He thinks he has conquered the demon that has given him his power, but unbeknownst to him, he hasn’t. His arrogance in this matter is like his arrogance in the rest of his life. What does your Alignment tell about you? He follows a strict set of his own rules that he ideally would want all others to follow, but he is also striving to take power in Korvosa by any means. He sees the queen as leading them down a path of destruction and will leave more than a few bodies in his wake if it means saving his home. What is their family situation? Jericho exposed his parents conspiracy on the throne, not because he likes the queen, but because uncertain leadership at a time like that could destroy Korvosa. Who do they care about (outside their family) and who do they hate? He cares deeply about all of Korvosa. Every citizen in the city has the right to live a free life as long as it is in service of Korvosa. What was their Early Life? What are some Recent Life Events? Jericho revealed his parents conspiracy on the throne at the age of eighteen and even took part in executing the group responsible. After this, he joined the Academae where he heard rumors about a secret evil deep in the halls that he sought to conquer. When did their life change for better or worse? After graduation, he spent a few years in the Korvosan Guard learning the life of a soldier and made a few friends while there which he hopes to use when he attempts to gain power. After his time in the guard, he sought to further strengthen himself and pursued the rumors of the great evil he had heard within the Academae. He stared into the evil in those halls of the and incorrectly assumed to have claimed it as his own giving him strength (The evil was his patron). Who are your Enemies? Who are your Allies? His enemies are the remnants of the group that his parents participated in and the government at large of Korvosa. What is their Primary Motivation? Protecting the people of Korvosa by restructuring the monarchy into a council that rules in tandem. What are some of their Strengths and Weaknesses? His strengths lie deeply in his forethought and connections. He spends countless hours planning his next move. He relies on his reputation since a battle can be won before it is fought if the enemy thinks it is over before it has started. He was a physically weak man at the end of his tenure in the guard and largely relies on the strength he now has from his patron. The issue is Jericho is unaware that he didn’t defeat the evil and it could possibly be plotting against him. What is their biggest Goal? How will they Achieve their Goal? The council would be made up of The Vision (Jericho), Strength (A military leader), and Cunning (Espionage/Spies) . In this new government noble title and race would have no bearing on what one can do in their life. It would now be run on what you can do for Korvosa (Meritocracy). What is their biggest Fear? Losing before he can prove to everyone that he was right. Does your character have any Prejudices? He hates those that discriminate on class and race. He himself came from a noble family which is why he knows firsthand that title is meaningless. What drives them to continue on? That he can push through all the death he has seen and caused and turn Korvosa into the shining city he knows it can be. How are they Special? Jericho is extremely gifted in his ability to plan five moves ahead and convince others that his way is the right one. He is How will they die? Either Jericho’s patron betrays him or his coup goes wrong. Where do they draw the line when it comes to unacceptable actions? Actively working against the interest of Korvosa and its people. Any people who he thinks do not have the city’s interests in mind he would be against. How would they Betray the party? If he was in a position in which he would without a doubt overtake the government at the cost of a party member/party as a whole he would likely take it. That being said he wouldn’t be swayed to believe just a simple empty promise.
