Roll20 has been freezing, lagging, and having major display issues for the past two days

I'm a player in a game that ran yesterday. In that game (Pathfinder), Roll20 would freeze for up to a minute just by clicking the drop-down to change which character I was using to speak. Trying to scroll the map made the map clip out 16 tiles from the left (this was a big city map which was about 40 tiles wide), while also displaying tokens in the wrong places and my character's tokens not at all. (I had to ask the GM to move them for me.) At one point, trying to reload Roll20's webpage made the whole map fail to load. I also saw much of the city map covered in darkness except in the radius of light around one of the PCs... even though dynamic lighting was turned off for that map , and nobody else had this issue. Although I had the worst problems, similar problems plagued many players, including freezes for no apparent reason, and the map clipping off so that it only displayed about a quarter of the width of the map. I use Firefox, the other players reporting problems used either Firefox or Chrome. Now, Thursday, I'm DM of a 5e D&D game... and the whole map fails to load. Any map, even if I change them. It just shows that "burlap" texture like if the map doesn't cover the whole screen, except there's no map even if I make a new, blank map that's just a white grid. Reloading Roll20 only makes it work for a while before the map is cut in half or the whole website freezes for a minute or more at a time just trying to scroll the screen or open a handout or character sheet. While other players and I have had problems with Roll20 at times, this week has been by far the worst in playing for two years.

Can you give some more details? What is the size of the map in grid squares (assuming you meant tiles in the traditional sense of a map graphic)? It definitely sounds like something is going wrong relating to map display. If you want the traditional steps in tracking down issues, I have posted them below. Could you please carefully work through these steps of our guide to Solving Technical Issues ? Step 1: Make sure to use the right browser Please check if these issues persist when using both Chrome and Firefox. Step 2: Ensure that there are no extensions/addons interfering with Roll20 Please disable all add-ons/extensions. Step 3: Clear your cache If none of the above succeeds, please thoroughly work through Step 4 . (Don't forget the complete Console Log!) Thank you!
I am a DM last week roll 20 crashed in mid game session. maps will not load. I am a windows 10 user and Chrome. it looks like a few others are having the same issue? any ideas?

This happens to all maps. Anything from a map 24x18 to a map 50x34. The part where the right side of the map is clipped off happens most notably with larger maps, but when this happens, no maps load at all, even when switching between them. Just quitting and reloading Roll20 from scratch 10 minutes later only occasionally seems to help. This happens regardless of using Chrome or Firefox. I have all my browser extensions disabled for Roll20. I went and cleared the cache, and reloading after that doesn't have the "no map appears" problem, but it's still lagging like it has been for the past few days. Another major, incredibly annoying problem is that clicking literally any text field or trying to change which "voice" I am speaking with on the drop-down box causes Roll20 to lag for 4-5 seconds every single time . This makes setting up dungeons by adding monsters with names to distinguish them (even just "Kobold 1", "Kobold 2", "Kobold 3", etc.) requires waiting out a pause of 3-4 seconds every single click on the text field.
I turned off my extensions for adobe, web ex and google docs. no effect. tried firefox it was very slow but eventually opened, tried bing/edge it was faster

Wraith_Magus, it sounds like this problem is serious enough to warrant a Help Center Request . I would suggest including a Console Log from Step four of the links I posted, to give the devs data on what might be happening in your game. In the meantime, you could also try Copying the game and seeing if that clears up any issue that might be arising from corrupted data. As for the lag from text entry, that I might have an actual solution for, at least in Firefox. This is a known conflict that can often be eliminated by turning off Autofill and Autocomplete. It's worth a try at any rate.

DM-Kazon, I can only guess at what your issue might be. Was the campaign functioning normally directly before the crash? When you try and load a page do you get a broken image icon, a non-displaying map? The page just fails to load? Have you deleted any graphics lately? Were these maps from a module or something you made yourself?
No I am familiar with that issue in the past when I deleted a image. (this is not the same) This seems to be a Chrome issues the page just starts to load and freezes when using Firefox or bing I can see the blue dots or script prompts updating In chome it locks up

Starting With the latest Windows update when I am in Roll20 my computer completely shuts down. Happened Friday, October 30, and today November 5. The power-off command executes. Only occurs in the Roll20 application and only on my Lenovo which is several years old, AMDA10 -7800 Raedon R7 Ram 12GB. On November 5 when I restarted I got the Windows screen asking me the last two questions from the features install of the new version of windows with the new update. It did not ask those questions when I restarted the computer this morning. HP Envy x360 laptop is not having the issue. Between Friday and today, I have run several programs and not had it shut down. Running it on Chrome. Discovered New Windows upload was not completed (reason still unknown) and optional updates not done. If you have this problem go to settings, update &security, and load all updates, run check for updates and run those too. Hoping this fixes it, but still does not explain why the shut-down command was only triggered by using Roll20.
On a pathfinder game I'm in, the only browser that is functional is Chrome. Firefox, Safari have various flaws, especially around the pathfinder character sheets. Safari is unable to successfully show a pop-out. Firefox, attempting to edit a character sheet causes the entire tab to freeze, CPU to peg at 100.
I am having the same issue as several people here, particularly the map going black and severe load times. Map goes black on Firefox but works fine on Chrome though.

Just as an addendum, that regaining of performance was temporary. It works fine on weekends early in the day, but as soon as it's late night on a weekday (when I play all my games), Roll20 is freezing on me all over the place.
This is not improving at all. I've waited a month for a response for my bug report, and no response ever came. I'm still getting lag ranging from 30 to 60 seconds, depending on the night, just doing simple things like trying to adjust HP on a token or trying to switch "speaking as" voices. As DM, not being able to alter monster HP without stopping the game dead for a minute is just ruining the game, and it's been going on for over a month, now. This is in addition to all the problems other players have been experiencing in the games I've participated in, both as DM and as a player. I've had the new dynamic lighting ruin a map when it just revealed the whole map when "Explorer Mode" was on. Another player reported their game looking like this: My DM in the game where I'm a player is getting Foundry VTT, and I'm going to be following suit, cancelling my subscription here. It's just been impossible to play without constant instability issues, freezes, and bugs that ruin any plans a DM might have on a map when players just suddenly see through something supposed to be hidden by Dynamic Lighting.
