Can I create a new character and hide it from the other players?

I'm a player and not a DM, but my DM cooperates with me and is too busy to ask this so, I made a new character and I'm switching to the new one during our next session, and my DM said not to tell the other players about the character change because he's going to integrate it into the plot. I want to have the roll20 character sheet ready so I don't need to create it mid-session but I also don't want it to be prematurely revealed to the other players in the in-game journal menu. If it's something only a DM can do, I still want to know

Yes, the only reason you can see other players' sheets right now is because the DM assigned viewing access to all players. For the new character he can assign it to only you until after the reveal.
