Help with hidden tokens and map layers (Sunless Citadel)

Hi I'm a pretty new user to Roll20, I recently purchased sunless citadel on here, and I'm really really struggling with all of the different layers. I feel like I understand them. The GM layer is just what I can see, etc. But I'm really struggling with tokens that start out hidden. I can't make them visible. They're on my GM layer, and I right click on them and try to bring them to the token layer, and they just disappear completely and are hiding behind the entire map. I have to drag the entire map around to find them hiding behind it. Also, sometimes I right click on a hidden enemy and it already says it's on the token layer but it's still just hidden. I basically just can't use any of the hidden tokens ever. I'm getting extremely frustrated. What am I doing wrong?
First I'd suggest turning on 'Use advanced keyboard shortcuts' in the in-game settings menu (the gear icon at the top right). Not a necessity but it'll help speed up moving things between layers. Then read the wiki at https://wiki.roll20.net/Advanced_Shortcuts It sounds like you have your tokens on the map layer, or your map image on the token layer. If your map image is on the token layer, select it and then press ' l m '. If your map is covering your tokens, right-click on it and select 'To Back'. That forces it to be behind all other tokens that it is covering. If your tokens are on the map layer, select them and press ' l k ' to move them to the GM layer. Another thing to check is that the GM Overlay Opacity is turned up high enough to see anything on the GM layer. Once you've got that sorted, you can move your tokens from the GM layer to the token layer by selecting them and pressing ' l o '.

A good habit to form is when moving something from the GM Layer, right-click the image you want to move and click To Front, then move it to the Map Layer.
