Brand new to D&D here, LFG that wouldn't mind showing me the ropes

Right then, so my name is Bob.  Thanks for spending the time to read this post.  As the title suggests I have never actually played D&D before so I understand if this is a hard pass for most. I never knew anyone who played so naturally, having little information on the game, never had much interest in trying it out.  Recently though I have now started watching a ton of different campaigns being played on youtube and it just looks like a ton of fun.  Anyhow, I am brand new to the game and this site of course so I don't want to just apply to a game and slow it down for anyone.  If there is anyone who is willing to take in a new player and show them the ropes a bit so I can get my bearings I would really appreciate the help. I have no idea what kinda campaign I would prefer now what class or type I would pick so whatever is fine with me.  I do really enjoy playing rogues in most rpg's though, that's what I play in WOW so maybe that's a start?  I don't know.  well thanks again to anyone taking the time to read this and sorry for the somewhat lengthy post.  I'm really looking forward to trying this game out for myself some time soon!

Hey, Bob, my name is Levi. I think you'll find that D&amp;D players are VERY happy to teach a new player the ropes, we always want to make more of us (especially if you can ever DM). I'm starting a campaign soon, session zero is this Friday at 3:00 PM MST. This particular game might really work for you, as my table runs home brewed rules that don't try to get overly complicated. It's similar to D&amp;D 5e, and honestly, to a LOT of other systems, so it can give you a solid footing in the D&amp;D sphere. I plan on making an artistic, character, and story driven affair with respectful adults ready to have a good time, and any experience level is welcome at my table. I have about 7 years of experience as a DM and have run many different genres in my campaigns (sci-fi, horror, fantasy, puzzle based, etc.).
