[CLOSED] I am a DM looking for two additional players to join an existing group for weekly sessions playing a new campaign of the Out of the Abyss module, Sundays from 7:30-10pm EST.
About Us:
Our group (currently 4) originated from a local board gaming meetup and began playing 5e in person about a year ago. We are all local to the greater Annapolis, MD area (bonus if you are too as we hope to return to in-person someday), and when the pandemic hit we moved our sessions online in order to continue playing. We recently lost one member due to scheduling issues and are looking to rebuild the group and start a new campaign. We enjoy a mix of role-play, hack and slash, problem solving, and general shenanigans. I will be acting as DM for this adventure, though we sometimes rotate in one-shots or other short adventures to be able to play around peoples schedule conflicts. I have been playing D&D, Pathfinder, and a few other systems for the last 3 years and have been DM'ing regularly for the last year. My goal is to make sure that the players get to enjoy making the adventure their own and I look for opportunities to adjust campaigns to fit the model of play that the group enjoys.
The
Campaign:
We will be starting a new campaign of the Out of the Abyss adventure module, which I have not run before. There will be expansions,
additions, and improvisations to exactly how it goes, mostly because I really enjoy the process of making a story our own. We will be starting from scratch with a session 0 next Sunday to meet new players, discuss characters and backgrounds, provide input on player preferences, etc. Explore the Underdark: a subterranean wonderland, a vast and
twisted labyrinth where fear reigns. It is here that portals to the
demonic Abyss open, and what lies beyond terrifies even the cruel
creatures born to the dark. Stop the Underdark’s tumble into madness
before it consumes you and all of the Forgotten Realms!
Schedule:
We play once
per week, Sunday from 7:30-10:00ish PM EST. Sessions are informal and we take breaks as needed, but do our best to keep the game moving to make the most of our time. I have no idea how long this particular campaign will take, but would guess 9 months to a year+. Tentative session 0 is set for November 15th.
Rules
and Expectations:
We will be using Google Meet for voice and video chat. If you want to join this group we expect to get to know a bit about you, as we are friends first and D&D players second.
I am not going to go into a lot of detail about rules. Be a decent person. Don't discriminate against anyone. Be able to take a joke, but feel free to speak up if something crosses a line. Understand that fitting well into the existing group dynamic will be an important factor in determining if get to join/play with us.
Players of any level of experience are
welcome. Our current players range from less than a year of experience to multiple years in multiple systems.
Most likely no homebrew content will be allowed for
character creation. Generally speaking I am open to any of the official WotC content, but check before you plan on doing anything unusual.
We ask that you commit to the group and the game. We totally understand that life happens, and we all cancel occasionally but we like to try to meet and play on a regular basis.
Application:
If you are interested, please fill out
the following either via roll20 private message or as a reply in this
thread. We will do our best to look at the people that want to join and let you know as quickly as possible if we have a slot for you.
