Looking for a Particular 1st edition D&D Group

Good Morning Folks. What I am seeking seems to be a dying breed these days. I was socializing when I was younger with very old D&D Players and therefore I learned to play on the 1st edition gameset. I do know how to play other editions but I think they suck in comparison with the 1st edition AD&D Set. The older folks I was with were also mentally stable and team oriented as well. You could depend on them without backstab or screwing up the party and they were tournament level players who could really think their way through situations and use their imaginations. We also all took turns at DM'ing and we had some pretty imaginative DM's as well and high magic item games and high end enemies in play. Point is.. I've tried this 5th edition crap and it is for newbies. I've tried showing/teaching others 1st edition and they are too ignorant of it's greatness.  I am seeking a high end 1st edition AD&D campaign. High risks, real play.. good older mature players who are mentally stable and fun and easy going for a game once or twice a week. I would also like this game to go for at least 6 hours. I am open to longer games. It is very hard to make progress in a game in only 4 hours. I also believe a group should accomplish alot in a gaming session and not simply manage to clear 3 rooms in a 4 to 6 hour time period.  I know I am being very picky and specific here but I'm tired of these newb games with people who have no idea how to use their imagination in D&D games. They think they know but they really don't. Message me if you have such a game or wish to start one up. I am patient.. I can wait for that right game to show up. Thank you for reading this and your time. I look forward to hearing from those interested in my application. Cheers Vyr Vandalous
Wow, never thought I'd see a post like this these days.  Not to start edition wars here (everyone has their own preference, so I'm always respectful of that) , but I can very much understand your points...  the good ol' days where imagination and teamwork is what makes a big part of the game and no backstabbing nor screwing up the party. ;) I'm also a TSR-editions-only fan, with my favorite being BECMI (the 5 box sets which take you from level 1 to 36 + immortals, though never actually played a game with the immortals rule yet) since our games were always with friends for casual fun as opposed to tournament-type play, followed by AD&D 1st Edition as second favorite.  None of the WotC editions are my cup of tea (nor the OSR reincarnations -- as prefer the "real thing" TSR editions so to say ;P) , so always glad to see other fellow fans out there. Just to get an initial idea.... What time zone are you in, and what are your typical time ranges of availability?  Are 6-hour sessions a high priority / must?
